Prince George has already made a start on incredible royal tradition despite his age

Prince George has already made a start on incredible royal tradition despite his age

Prince George will be following in his father Prince William's footsteps

Prince George has been using the last day of his school summer holidays to get started on a long-standing royal tradition.

The 11-year-old, the eldest of Prince William and Kate Middleton's three children, seems to be following directly in the footsteps of his father and King Charles III with the latest skill he's acquired.

Now, as we know, there are a whole bunch of traditions the Royal Family like to uphold.

From addressing the monarch properly as 'Your Majesty' and bowing/curtsying before seniors of the family to the far more obscure ones including the peculiar reason why the institution isn't allowed to eat shellfish, and why the royal ladies must wear tights on certain occasions.

And, when it comes to the children of the monarchy, they have their set of traditions to follow too.

And that's exactly the case for Prince George who is already well-versed when it comes to royal tradition.

Now, if the family follows royal tradition from July 2025 and his 12th birthday, second in line to the throne George could be forced to travel separately on royal visits and tours.

He won't just be travelling without his siblings but without his father too, as Prince William is the first in line to the throne and the rules would mean that the two royal members in succession can't be together.

The tradition was put in place in case the worst should happen and a plane crashed, it would mean an heir to the throne is protected and keeps the monarchy stable.

Talking of flying, George is also following royal tradition by learning how to fly.

The youngster enjoyed his very first flight last week on the final day of his school holidays at the Berskhire airfield - the exact same airfield George's great-grandad Prince Philip trained in.

William is also a trained helicopter pilot who has flown for both RAF Search and Rescue and East Anglia Air Ambulance.

Speaking of the moment when George was learning the ropes just as his father, grandfather and great-grandfather did, an onlooker said: "George is only 11 years old but it is the right time to start.

"The Royal Family has a proud tradition of flying and it looks like George is next in line.

"His parents watched George take flight from the safety of the ground but he flew with an instructor and loved it."

"He loved it," an onlooker added. "It’s the right time to start."

According to The Sun, the Duke and Duchess of Wales turned up in a 'three-car convoy' at White Waltham Airfield near Maidenhead which is about a 20-minute drive from their home in Windsor.

"Catherine and William watched George take off," an onlooker said. "But they were relaxed about it.

"All three of them had been pretty chilled in the clubhouse."
