Selena Gomez has been accused of 'throwing shade' at certain A-listers who attended the Knicks game last night (10 June) in a now-deleted post.

On Wednesday, the New York Knicks staged their biggest comeback in NBA Finals history, successfully beating the San Antonio Spurs by one point in the final 1.2 seconds of the game, after trailing by a staggering 29 points.

Gomez, a Spurs fan, was quick to share several posts following the game online - but one has caught the attention of fans all over for a very specific reason.

In a since-deleted post shared to her Instagram Stories, the 33-year-old singer-actress shared a screenshot of an NBA article along with some overlay text which read: "Mad respect for the game!!

She continued: "So funny how some are all [of a] sudden fans though lol."

Some social media users have taken the cryptic jab as Gomez 'throwing shade' at certain Hollywood A-listers who were in attendance during the game.

Such celebs included Hailey Bieber, Taylor Swift, Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet.

"Who she throwing shade at?" questioned one fan while a second slammed: "Sorry, but why would you shade like that? Grow up."

A third chirped: "Lmfao if this is not a shade towards anyone, why she delete?"

"Yeah that wasn't necessary," declared a fourth as a fifth chimed in: "She calling out the larpers."

"I feared she ate," praised a sixth.

A seventh echoed: "Clocked them."

Another defended: "She never mentioned celebrities you guys are just making assumptions."

And a final social media questioned: "What's wrong with being excited by basketball, avid fan or not? Is there a rule nobody can like anything suddenly???"

Gomez also shared to her Instagram Stories a throwback snap of her wearing a Spurs jersey with the overlay text reading: "Happy for NY but my heart breaks just a lil lol

"It's ok. I'm happy for the teams! Thanks for giving us some great games @nba."

ESPN analyst and former NBA Most Valuable Player Charles Barkley called Wednesday's game 'some of the most mismanaged, stupid basketball'.

"When you blow a 29-point lead, the other team has to help, and the San Antonio Spurs helped the New York Knicks win this game," he slammed.

Gomez later reposted a post reading: "I never regret being kind but I have regretted every moment I wasn't."

"Love this," Gomez added in the caption.
