Selena Gomez, who has been in a relationship with Benny Blanco for over a year, responded in an awkward manner when pressed about her love life.

Gomez, a 32-year-old actress and singer, first confirmed her relationship with record producer Blanco in November 2023.

Blanco, who was featured in People's Sexiest Man Alive issue, has previously gushed about his other half.

In an episode of The Howard Stern Show, he mused: "I don't know a world where it could be better than this.

"She's the coolest, the nicest, the sweetest, like, everything.

"She's truly just like my best friend. We laugh all f***ing day. She inspires me."

Gomez, who is currently starring in the recently released musical Emilia Pérez, was asked about her relationship on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The host asked: "If you don’t mind me asking, where is this relationship going?"

Gomez quipped: "Uhh, whoa!" before continuing: "I thought you were going to ask where this picture was taken," and laughed.

The star then added: “I’m not sure, but I’m having a great time.”

Stephen Colbert then addressed Blanco directly, stating: "Benny, you must think you’re pretty special if you think you can do better than this, OK?" while pointing at Gomez.

He then added: "As America’s dad, I want to know what your intentions are with America’s daughter right over here."

When Gomez initially confirmed her relationship, she was met with cruel comments from fans who suggested Blanco isn't worthy of her.

Gomez didn't hold back when responding, writing: "If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don't feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I'm done. If you can't accept me at my happiest then don't be in [m]y life at all."

When Gomez's cosmetics company, Rare Beauty, was named one of TIME100's Most Influential Companies of 2024, she said: "I know what people can do to people I love. My own fans, who I adore and feel like have shaped who I am, will say the most hurtful things to me about how I live my life. But he has the strength in him that none of that noise fazes him,” she said.

“It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon.”
