Fresh off the back of her triple gold medal wins at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Simone Biles has once again hit the headlines for bringing back a pretty iconic Y2K fashion trend.
The US gymnast was able to cement her title as the most decorated gymnast in history at this year's sporting tournament, walking away with a staggering three golds, as well as a silver.

It isn't her record-breaking antics that have made Simone the talk of the social media world this week, however - although we can't deny, we're still mind blown by her achievements.
In fact, it's her keen eye for style, after the Olympian showed off a change to her appearance which fans have credited it as classic noughties core.
We are, of course, talking about the a-dor-able tooth gem that the 27-year-old has been spotted donning while showing off her pearly whites.
In a snap shared earlier in the games, the gymnast could be seen biting down on one of her illustrious gold medals, showing off a gorgeous set of light-catching crystal gems, one on each side of her canine teeth.

If you have no idea what I'm on about, cast your mind back to the late 90s and early 00s, where celebs and singers were often pictured showing off glimmering little diamonds attached to their gnashers.
And like every great noughties trend, it looks as though tooth gems are making a long-awaited comeback, with sports star Simone paving the way for fashionistas everywhere.
"I've been waiting on someone to say sum’n every since the team won their gold medal, but no one’s gonna say sum’n bout the GOAT’s teefeses???" one wrote on social media this week.

Another gushed: "OMG THE TOOTH GEMS ARE EVERYTHING. I wanna get brunch with her so bad."
"Simone Biles has tooth gems therefore I want tooth gems now," a third added, before someone else went on: "I saw Simone Biles got a tooth gem so I got a tooth gem."
The hype of Simone's new accessory comes not long after the biological mother of the adopted athlete issued a controversial statement to press, pleading with Simone for forgiveness.

In the interview with the Daily Mail, 52-year-old Shanon Biles firstly touched on the reason why she was forced to give up Simone and her siblings.
"It was hard to give up my kids, but I had to do what I had to do," Shanon claimed.
"I wasn't able to care for them. I was still using and [my father] didn't want me coming in and out of their lives when I wasn't right."
