Taylor Swift was in for quite the shock on Sunday (9 February) when she turned up to the Super Bowl to support her Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend, Travis Kelce, only to be met with an eruption of boos when she appeared up on the jumbotron.
While the 35-year-old 'Karma' singer handled the incredibly awkward situation like a pro, it's clear she was made to feel super uncomfortable and confused by the ordeal, hence why she mouthed: "Wait...what is going on?", according to a lip reader.
And now, a body language expert has weighed in on the matter, breaking down what he says Taylor felt when she was being booed by the crowd.
Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Darren Stanton told Tyla: "At the point the crowd starts booing, Taylor’s eyes open wide. Initially, we see a combination of shock, disbelief and feeling pretty embarrassed.

"She tries to laugh it off but it’s clearly caught her off guard and hit a nerve."
He continued: "Ice Spice does a shushing motion with her finger, as if to tell the crowd to be quiet, as she’s aware of Taylor’s feelings and is embarrassed for her.
"Ice Spice then looks at Taylor to see her reaction to being booed."
At this point, Darren explains that we see Ice Spice tilt and dip her head down which 'denotes shame'.

"She’s feeling mortified for Taylor," the body language expert claims. "She’s trying to help her get past the awkward moment as quickly as possible."
"In the short response, she shows a massive masking smile. These are normal, genuine reactions from Taylor, it’s real emotion and she does absolutely feel embarrassed here."
Darren went on to point out that Taylor tucked her chin in which is apparently an indicator she 'wants to make herself physically smaller, and shows her upset at the boos'.

"She knows they’re not there for her, but this wasn’t the response she was expecting," he carried on. "This gesture comes from us feeling internally affected, and is something people do as a way of reassurance.
"The more confident someone is, that’s when we get gestures like hands on hips and feet wider apart. But when we want to 'disappear', we make ourselves smaller."

It didn't take long for Swifties to rush to social media to share their support for the singer, with one writing: "God forbid a woman watches sport AND SUPPORTS HER BOYFRIEND??? Tf."

"She handled that with real class. A true queen," praised a second, while a third said: "Notice how she didn’t care?? This is embarrassing, boys."
A fourth criticised: "What do they think they accomplished? Like she doesn't seem to even care about them. Unbothered queen."
"I think they need to calm down…" another commented.
And a final person added: "Look, I'm not a fan of Taylor at all and I find it weird that they always focus on her during games.. but... she isn't controlling the camera.

"She has just as much right to be there as everyone else."
