It's a tale as old as time that those in front of the camera and those behind it have always butted heads.
But, you'd hope, that such people - as adults - would leave the pettiness behind and keep quiet on their nastier judgements and remain professional.
Well, that was far from the case for one Hollywood producer who hit out at Sydney Sweeney claiming she 'isn’t pretty' and 'can’t act'.

Now, Sweeney skyrocketed to fame back in 2019, starring as Cassie Howard in the HBO drama, Euphoria, alongside Jacob Elordi, Zendaya and Alexa Demie. Euphoria got her her first Emmy nomination in 2022.
She went on to appear in a number of critically acclaimed movies and TV shows including The White Lotus, Anyone But You, Madame Web and Immaculate.
However, that's not stopped her from receiving a whole lot of slander from Carol Baum, who is known for films such as Father of the Bride, The Good Girl, and Fly Away Home.

Baum didn't hold back on her thoughts on the young star when speaking with New York Times film critic, Janet Maslin, after a screening of her 1988 film Dead Ringers.
Not only did the producer slam Sweeney's acting capabilities, but she also took a jab at her for her appearance.
She began by telling the audience how she had watched the rom-com movie, Anyone But You, on a flight.

"I don’t get Sydney Sweeney," she said.
"I was watching on the plane Sydney Sweeney's movie because I wanted to watch it.
"I wanted to know who she is and why everybody's talking about her."

Baum continued to call the flick an 'unwatchable movie' adding: "Sorry to people who love this movie - [this] romantic comedy where they hate each other."
She went on to tell viewers about how she even incorporated such opinion during a class she taught at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
"I said to my class, 'Explain this girl to me. She’s not pretty, she can’t act. Why is she so hot?'" Baum hit out.
"Nobody had an answer, but then the question was asked, 'Well if you could get your movie made because she was in it, would you do it?'"

Carrying on recalling the interaction, Baum continued: "We all want to get the movie made and who walks away from a green light?
"Nobody I know. Your job is to get the movie made."
A representative for Sydney Sweeney told LADBible Group: "How sad that a woman in the position to share her expertise and experience chooses instead to attack another woman. If that’s what she’s learned in her decades in the industry and feels is appropriate to teach to her students, that’s shameful.
"To unjustly disparage a fellow female producer speaks volumes about Ms Baum’s character."
