Taylor Swift’s fans are up in arms after an ESPN presenter called the megastar a controversial term during a Chiefs game.
It was during the Kansas City Chiefs' win over the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead yesterday (October 7) that Swift returned to the stands to support her man.
After having been absent for the last two games due to her being on the road, it was a big deal that she was there again, and the cameras were focusing on her reactions.

However, at one point during the game, Troy Aikman applauded a second-quarter play by Travis Kelce against the Saints - but it all went wrong for him.
He uttered a term when the cameras panned to Swift as she celebrated her beau that had fans livid, with many calling it ‘outdated’ and ‘demeaning’.
But what did he say that was so rough on the ears?

Well, he called her ‘The Mrs’.
After all eyes were on Swift, Aikman told viewers: “The Mrs likes it.”
He was making reference to her happy expression as Kelce delivered a great play. But someone else must have known how ‘the mrs’ comment would have gone down, as he was quickly corrected.
That person was his partner, Joe Buck who quickly said: “You know they’re not married?”

“Oh I know,” Aikman replied and then added: “I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that.”
Trouble indeed.
Fans on X (formerly Twitter) were raging about him calling the one and only T-Swift by a term which reduced her to the role of wife.

One person scathed: “I know Troy Aikman's botox ass did NOT just call Taylor Swift ‘the Mrs.’ She's bigger than you could ever dream to be, cowboy.”
Another wrote: “Not sure which ahole #JoeBuck or #TroyAikman called @taylorswift13 ‘the Mrs’ but you just lost ALL credibility w women. Whether you meant it or not, it was a chavanistic, disgusting statement. I hope you catch fire from fans, Taylor, & @tkelce. @espn, great way to lose fans.”
Someone else added: “Dear Troy Aikman, DO NOT call Taylor Swift ‘the Mrs.’ It’s demeaning. Even if she WAS his wife. She’s Taylor Alison Swift - global superstar.”

Even though there have been rumours about Kelce and Swift’s relationship status quickly escalating to engaged or even wedded in secret, there have yet to be any substantial evidence to support this.
It wasn’t long ago that experts came out of the woodwork to suggest that the pair could be ready to wed as soon as possible, with one jewellery maker even offering his services to tailor make a ring.
However, there have also been rumours that the pair are in a contractual public relations relationship which was due to end last month.
Considering the pair are still going strong, it’s safe to assume that it was a false report, particularly due to the PR company mentioned in the report taking legal action against the claims that they facilitated a breakup-contract for the stars.
