Zac Efron fans flock to his defence after brutal comment made about his acting career

The Traitors US viewers have been seriously divided on Bob the Drag Queen's remark

Zac Efron fans have flocked to his defence after a pretty savage comment was made about his acting career.

The drama all started during an episode of The Traitors US, which features Zac's younger brother, Dylan, along with a number of other celebrities.

One of the contestants, Bob the Drag Queen, who won the eighth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, has sparked quite the debate online over his claims that Zac - who has starred in a number of box-office smashes including The Iron Claw and the High School Musical film series, wasn't that 'good' an actor.

At the round table, Dylan could be heard saying: "What would Bob do? Bob is an amazing actor - I grew up with an actor."

Without hesitation, Bob quipped: "Not a good one!"

After watching the episode, viewers rushed to social media to share their reactions to Bob's remarks with one X user writing: "Zac Efron catching strays!"

A second penned: "Bob didn’t see The Iron Claw I guess!"

"LMAO now what did Zac do to deserve that?" quipped a third, while a fourth urged: "Please watch Iron Claw, Bob, and educate yourself. Zac was robbed of the Oscar nom. The entire movie robbed."

Another declared: "Zac Efron is actually one of the best actors to come off Disney so that was crazy

A sixth X user added: "Zac Efron went from portraying a teenage sports star in a Disney channel musical to portraying one of the most notorious serial killers in the history of our county.

"If that’s not range as an actor I don’t know what is. #TheTraitorsUS."

Others, however, maintained the comment was nothing more than a bit of banter which made for some pretty good telly.

"Now you know he wasn't being serious. He was being messy and that's all that counts in the moment!" wrote one fan of the show.

"It’s literally not that deep," claimed a second while a third hit out: "Oh my god shut up and let them be entertaining."

A fourth echoed: "Oh my goddddddd do yall like TV or nahhhh."

And a final X user chirped: "Omg y'all r no fun it was literally just a witty comeback."

Dylan, who has been marked as a Faithful in the first episode of the Peacock programme, has already been praised by his sibling for his game-playing skills.

At the premiere of A Family Affair last year, Zac was questioned whether he fancied his brother to go all the way in The Traitors US.

"I hope he does [win] because he's so good at games. He always has been since we were kids. He's like the game master,” Zac told E! News’ The Rundown at the time.

He continued: "I don't care what game it is," the actor added of his sibling. "It can be a luck game like Yahtzee and he always gets Yahtzee on the first roll.

"If anyone can do this, it's him. I'm rooting for him."
