Travis Kelce only just realised how you pronounce Alice In Wonderland and fans can’t get over it

The NFL superstar made the hilarious confession on his latest podcast

There's nothing more cringe-worthy than realising you've been pronouncing a pretty common word wrong your whole life.

Until someone finally has the courage to tell ask you, 'Hun, what did you just say?', you've been unknowingly embarrassing yourself time and time again.

But for individuals in the public eye, these sorts of mistakes are considerably worse, being that fans often don't let you forget about them for weeks.

And in some of the worst cases, celebs can even find themselves becoming a meme.

I mean, remember when Wendy Williams referred to UK chart-topper Dua Lipa as 'Dula Peep'? I'll never be able to call the singer anything different again!

Or when John Travolta was introducing Frozen star Idina Menzel at the Oscars and completely bundled his words, calling her 'Adele Dazeem'? Another iconic oops moment.

Well, anyway, this week it seems to be the turn of NFL superstar Travis Kelce to become red-faced, after he made the staggering realisation that he'd been pronouncing the name of Tim Burton's 2010 gothic blockbuster Alice In Wonderland wrong this whole time.

Appearing beside his brother Jason on the most recent episode of their hit New Heights podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs tightend - who also happens to be the boyfriend of superstar Taylor Swift - made the embarrassing confession.

Thankfully, however, you could argue that the mistake wasn't as bad as that of Wendy or John, after he claimed only a couple of people ever noticed his mispronunciation.

After lifting the lid on what it was like to perform alongside his global chart-topping girlfriend during her recent concert performance in Wembley, as well as his subsequent meeting with the British Royal Family, Travis hilarious added: "I also found out over the summer that it's 'Alice in Wonderland'. Not Alison Wonderland."

His visibly baffled brother then wanted to confirm: "You thought it was Alison Wonderland?"

"Yeah, I thought Alison Wonderland was like, the name," Travis admitted.

Jason then quizzed him further, asking: "Did you ever watch the movie though? You know her name wasn't Alison?"

"I thought it was," Travis laughed back. "Not one time did I catch that, dude!"

And listeners could not help but poke fun at the sportsman for his mistake.

"his a** for sure called taylor that and she was like wtf are you saying it’s alice," one joked on social media this week.

Another went on: "i haven’t moved past travis thinking it was 'alison wonderland' and not 'alice in wonderland'."

"Can't stop thinking about that travis alice in/alison wonderland clip," another teased.
