Millie Bobby Brown had incredibly blunt reaction to people’s comments about her accent

"She's Millie Bobby Brown she can speak however she wants, thank you."

Millie Bobby Brown once had the perfect blunt response to all the people who had anything less than nice to say about her ever-changing accent.

Brown, 20, can't seem to catch a break these days.

Other than, of course, her super successful career and marriage to the love of her life, when it comes to trolls on social media, they always seem to have something to say about the Stranger Things star.

Only recently she was forced to hit back at trolls making comments about her changing appearance.

Taking to her Instagram Story, she said: "Women grow!! not sorry about it :)," after a series of comments from so-called fans said that she was trying to grow up too fast and looked older than her age.

And this isn't the first time Brown has had to shut down trolls making unnecessary comments.

Last year, Brown made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where fans were surprised to hear her don an American accent.

Previously, she'd been known to have a fairly prominent British twang.

Well, the Enola Holmes frontwoman is British but grew up in America, and therefore her accent tends to shift depending on who she is around - something she had no trouble clearing up in an interview with TikTok interviewer Max Balegde.

“I’m an actor," she said.

“I grew up in the public eye. I grew up in America. I come to set and I’m an actor and I adapt, and so I want to mimic other people!

“I can’t help that when I’m around my fiancé, or when I’m with people like Jimmy Fallon who have a very American accent, I wanna replicate it!

“And now I’m in England, I wanna replicate that [accent]! I don’t do it intentional, and I’m sorry if it offends you, okay? But listen, I’m trying my best! I’m trying my best.”

Balegde couldn't help but agree with the actor and shared his own shift in accent that came from moving from the north to south of England.

And since shutting down the haters, people flocked to the comments with nicer things to say this time around.

One person said: "Mimicking accents probably helps her in her other roles too."

Another added: "Imagine getting speech coaching at 11 years old and expecting your accent to not change."

Good point, actually.

Someone else chimed in: "I grew up in 2 countries and my British accent fluctuates like crazy," while a final added: "I’ve recently moved to the UK from the states and it’s really hard for me not to slip into the local accents."

Common sense, people.
