Comedian Pete Davidson has candidly shared the reason why he and ex-fiancée Ariana Grande called time on their relationship.
Grande, 30, got engaged to 31-year-old Davidson in 2018, but they went through a shock split mere months later.
The singer, who recently starred in John M. Chu's cinematic adaptation of the iconic musical Wicked, was very much in love with Davidson.

She even went so far as to get his name tattooed on her finger and named a song after him, with the lyrics including: "Universe must have my back / Fell from the sky into my lap / And I know you know that you're my soulmate and all that."
After the release of the song, she stated in response to fan's questioning her decision to include it on her 2018 album, 'Sweetener': "He's my fiancé," adding: "This is my album. I'm an honest and emotional artist and human being and if my openness in my work isn't for you, that's OK."
Davidson also returned the tattoo favour by getting a bunny ears mask tattooed on his neck, an ode to the cover of her Dangerous Woman album cover - with the pair also getting numerous matching tattoos, as per PEOPLE.

Before dating Davidson, Grande was in a relationship with the late rapper Mac Miller, who passed away in 2018, aged just 26.
In a conversation with Charlemagne Tha God in 2020, Davidson shared that upon Miller's tragic passing, he knew his relationship with Grande was over.
He recalled: “I was like, ‘Listen, I get it, do whatever you’ve got to do, I’ll be here'. I think I said, ‘I’ll be here until you don’t want me to be here.’
“I pretty much knew it was around over after that. That was really horrible, and I can’t imagine what that s**t is like.

“All I do know is that she really loved the s**t out of him, and she wasn’t putting on a show or anything. That was f****d up. Prayers to his family and all of his friends.”
A year after the breakup, Grande shed further light on the romance, telling Vogue in 2019: "I met Pete, and it was an amazing distraction.
"It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn’t know him."

Her words seem to have offended Davidson, who has up until that point avoided using their relationship as material for his comedy routines.
In his 2020 Netflix special, Alive from New York, Davidson responded to her comments, saying that if he 'did that', his career 'would be over tomorrow'.
He also mentioned her previously deleted tweet about his manhood, adding: "I don’t like that she talked all that sh*t for my penis."
He then claimed that talking about their relationship on stage is now 'fair game'.
