If I asked you to think of some of the world's richest celebrities, I bet the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks come to mind.
Maybe Kim K? Taylor Swift? Jamie Lee Curtis?
Well, what if I told you that planet Earth's wealthiest movie star is someone rather unknown.

In fact, you mightn't have ever heard of her at all.
It's true - in terms of colossal net worth, there's one woman that surpasses all the ranks, despite never having received a single accolade for her work, or featured in any award-winning movies.
Alright, alright, we'll finally tell you who she is.

It turns out that the world's most well-off Hollywood star is actress Jami Gertz...
See, I told you that you wouldn't have heard of her!
The 58-year-old made her on-screen debut back in 1981 after landing a rather minor role in rom-com On the Right Track.
In the years that followed, Gertz bagged impressive roles in the likes of comedy-horror The Lost Boys, as well as drama hit Less Than Zero, and disaster movie Twister - the inspiration behind Daisy Edgar Jones and Glen Powell's newly-released remake.

Throughout the duration of her career so far, the star has added a total of 23 feature films to her roster.
And when it comes to television, she's also made a handful of impressive additions to her CV.
Gertz previously played the role of Judy Miller in the CBS sitcom Still Standing, and between the years 2012 and 2014, she bagged the role of Debbie Weaver in the ABC sitcom The Neighbors.

According to reports, the on-screen star is worth an absolutely mind-blowing total of $3 billion (the equivalent to £2.3b), despite being relatively unknown in the entertainment industry.
It turns out, however, that Gertz makes all her money in a vastly different way, and her colossal wealth is actually because of who she's married to.
Back in 1989, Gertz married businessman Tony Ressler and - as well as welcoming four beautiful children together - the couple jointly joined an investment group led by Mark Attanasio which famously purchased the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball.

They're also part owners of the NBA team Atlanta Hawks.
Ressler himself, 65, made a fortune of his own by co-founding private equity firm Apollo Global all the way back in 1990 along with his brother-in-law, and according to Forbes, he is currently worth a jaw-dropping $11 illion (£8.5bill).
Alright for some, eh?
