Love Island’s Uma Jammeh breaks social media silence for first time since shock exit from the villa

Uma Jammeh has opened up on Instagram after her shock decision to leave the Love Island villa with Wil Anderson

Since her shock exit from the Love Island villa, Uma Jammeh has now ended her social media silence.

Model and VIP host Uma - who had been coupled up with quantity surveyor Wil Anderson for several weeks - was a fan-favourite.

In a huge twist, when Wil was savagely dumped from the island after being made single, she announced that she wouldn't stay on Love Island without him.

The decision to leave left viewers in shock, but she has since now posted to her social media to thank everyone for their support.

Writing on her Instagram Stories, Uma shared a mirror selfie as she wrote across it: "Just wanted to say major love to every single one of you!! Honestly couldn't have imagined such a lovely reception from everyone.

"You honestly are all such angels. I have had the best experience ever I have met such special people in there that will be part of me forever.

"I am honestly so full of joy right now. I love you all and thank you all for everything. Hugs and kisses to everyone."

In another Story post she reshared a selfie alongside Wil, as he wrote: "Back with beautiful."

The couple then appeared to be on a date night as they shared snaps from a restaurant enjoying food and cocktails.

The Love Island duo also poked fun at the series as they mimed to the now famous meme of 'Who's Emma?'.

In an interview with ITV producers, Uma described her departure as 'bittersweet' and explained why she was 'instantly' attracted to Wil.

"He was all in for me which I really liked, and it was refreshing off the back of the Ayo situation," she continued.

"Once Wil took me to the other Villa for an overnight stay something clicked and I felt a special spark in that moment which made me realise he was the person for me.

"That’s why I found Casa hard for me as it made me miss Wil more. I feel so comfortable and happy around him. Seeing him waiting for me after Casa was such a special feeling, I know we’ve had our challenges but it’s made us stronger than ever."

Addressing her future with Wil after leaving with him, Uma went on to explain: "We can’t wait to just do normal things on the outside, stay inside and have a takeaway and go on cute dates.

"Wil wants to take me to Whitley Bay to see where he’s from, but we’ve also discussed him possibly moving to London so I’m looking forward to the future with him.

"The only way is up from here."
