Olivia Rodrigo massively misjudged a situation when she asked two fans at her show to kiss - only for them to reveal that they were actually siblings.

And as far as awkward concert moments go, that's gotta be up there for one of the most awkward of all time.

Rodrigo is currently on her 'Guts World Tour', with the incident taking place during a gig in Sydney, Australia.

Like any concert or sports game, a big camera is shone onto the audience to allow for a bit of back-and-forth banter between the artist and the crowd.

The singer asked a boy and girl spotted together at the concert to kiss for the 'Guts Cam', and just as the big screen displayed them both together, he revealed that they were, in fact, brother and sister.

Chatting away to her crowd of fans, the camera panned across the audience as she told the pair: “Hi! Hell yeah - you guys are so cute!”

She added: "I have a huge and fun favour to ask, would you guys give us a kiss on the Guts cam?"

Eeeeek.

The boy, frantically shaking his head, shouted: "She's my sister!!"

In an awkward attempt to move on, she then said: "She’s your sister! Oh sh*t, Oh sh*t.

“Ok never mind, never mind, never mind, scrap that!

"Oh F**k, wow, that hasn’t happened before – this is the first time. I’m actually surprised that that hasn’t happened.”

The brother involved, called Tom Santo, later posted a clip of the moment on TikTok, captioned: "Olivia Rodrigo asking my sister and I to kiss was not on my 2024 bingo card.”

It seems as though the star still hasn't moved on from the situation as she left a comment on his TikTok saying: "I AM SO SORRY."

But Tom seemed to have some fun with the situation as he cheekily asked her: "We can recreate the kiss cam if you would like!???"

And TikTok users in the comments were quick to suggest that they wouldn't have handled the awkward encounter as well as Rodrigo did.

One person said: "She's so much stronger than me I would have ended the show early."

Another said: "I was there and it was actually hilarious."

A third added: "The way I would have jumped off the stage in embarrassment."

Meanwhile, a fourth said: "She's never asking againnnn," while someone else said the pair had been 'put on 'siblings or dating' in real time," to which Tom replied: "Literally."
