After what feels like the wait of a lifetime, the day has finally arrived... Spotify has released its 2024 Wrapped information.
For those unfamiliar with the concept (most likely Apple Music users), streaming platform Spotify collates users' information and fills them in on their most played artists and tracks.
In previous years, Wrapped has been an incredibly detailed look into somebody's psyche and personally, we're addicted to seeing people share which artists they obsess over.

Not only have we learned who and what we've listened to on repeat, we'd get a look at which podcasts we couldn't get enough of, which cities we'd listened to the most, and our top genres - among even more.
Though it tends to look a little different year on year, Spotify Wrapped is a personalised report that assesses listening data from the year.
This year, users have been left feeling ever so slightly disappointed after the Wrapped experience seems to be lacking in as much detail.

One person wrote on Twitter: "Spotify wrapped flopped this year so bad like where are the music cities, the playlists, the top genres or the listening auras… all that wait for WHAT #SpotifyWrapped2024."
Another said: "Why is this year’s wrapped so empty?? no top genres and the whole theme was just… colors and moving geometrical shapes? What a major disappointment."
A third added: "#SpotifyWrapped2024 flopped this year. No playlist, no genre, no music city."

A fourth chimed: "Spotify wrapped was so boring this year! Where is the random facts? All they told us was our top artist, top song, and minutes listened."
Spotify Wrapped has been part of the streaming service since 2016, and goes viral each and every year due to people being able to post brightly coloured graphics to their story while humbly bragging (or cringing) about their music taste.
It's become a staple activity to partake in while preparing to bid adieu to the year that's about to end - so people are frustrated that they don't get to pore over their listening habits in as much detail this year.
It remains to be seen whether Spotify will roll out more in-depth stats over the coming days, or whether we just have to make do with what we've been given.

Judging by my social media feed, one thing's for sure - a lot of people have been listening to Taylor Swift and Beyoncé this year.
