After what really and truly felt like the wait of a lifetime, Spotify released the data for our 2024 Wrapped roundups, which offer a glimpse into what music we've been blasting this year.
While some people may choose to simply scroll through their top five artists and tracks and keep it pushing, thanks to the brightly coloured design and unhinged summaries of what vibe we've been on, the majority of us simply have to share screenshots with our friends and followers.
And truly, thank heavens for that, because there is nothing more addictive than seeing just how many minutes someone spent bumpin' Charli XCX this year.

There are some very unhinged wildcards in there sometimes too - and it's a thrill to comb through all of the details.
According to research, if some songs in particular cropped up on your 2024 Spotify Wrapped... there's a chance you could be a psychopath.
I hear you asking, who could it be? Surely something very controversial with incredibly offensive lyrics?
Advert
Nope. Well, not all of them.
One of them was sung by Justin Bieber.
Pascal Wallisch and Nicole Leal of New York University presented their findings at the Society for Neuroscience meeting in Washington, D.C., and while the full extent of the research is yet to be released, we've already learned enough for our minds to be collectively blown.
As Wallisch put it, as per the Washington Post: "The cliché is they are all in prison, but they’re all over.”

What a lovely thought.
Their study consisted of giving their patients a questionnaire that measured their psychopathic traits, and measured it against a load of songs on a seven-point scale.
Stay with me here. Ultimately, Wallisch and Leal looked at the overlap between those who got a high score on the psychopathy questionnaire versus how highly they rated certain songs.

They ended up finding that those who scored highly on the questionnaire really seemed to like six songs by six artists.
So, without further ado...
Eminem - Lose Yourself
Marshall Mathers very famously wrapped "His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti" for this track that featured in the film 8 Mile. Apparently, psychopaths love it.
Blackstreet - No Diggity
The certified banger which pretty much all of us know off by heart apparently scored very highly. No diggity, no doubt.
Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean?
In truly shocking news, this song made the list. The 2015 bop, which features a baby-faced Bieber is, according to the researchers, revered by those with psychopathic tendencies. But wait, I love this song...

Though of course, there's also songs the subjects completely hated.
Dire Straits - Money For Nothing
The British rock band released this track in 1996 includes some very questionable lyrics that don't bear repeating here. Their last year together as a band was in 1995, though it seems they're still rubbing people up the wrong way in 2024.
Gogi Grant - The Wayward Wind
Originally sung by Grant in 1956, the song has gone on to be covered many times throughout the years. Honourable mention goes to Patsy Cline.
The lyrics express profound heartache, which perhaps isn't an emotion psychopaths concern themselves with all that often.
The Knack - My Sharona
The instantly recognisable beat launches into an incredibly feel good tune that gets even those with two left feet up on the dancefloor. Unless you're a psychopath, I suppose.
