Taylor Swift’s Eras tour made music history when it became the highest grossing concert tour of all time, with 149 shows across five continents – and it’s not even finished yet.
The singer is now on her final leg in Canada, where things will draw to a close next month... though not without making her a fair bit of extra cash to see her off.
Last year, when it looked like Swift was on track to break records, Forbes crunched the numbers to work out just how lucrative the gigs would be.

According to the outlet, the first 22 performances grossed over $300 million, with estimates suggesting she had grossed nearly $110 million herself, after production costs and paying concert promoter Messina Touring Group.
Of course, at the time there was still expenses for her manager, publicist and agent, as well as taxes, for Forbes reckoned that when those bills were paid, she’d have earned roughly $30 million from that first chunk of dates – in turn taking her net worth to $780 million as of June 2023.
Journalist Marisa Dellatto also said the North American leg of the Eras tour alone could gross ‘over $700 million overall’, a number that climbs even bigger when you factor in further performances around the globe.

As for how much she’s thought to be making for each show? Well, It’s a little more than our average day in the office, with Dellatto saying the concerts had an ‘average gross of $13.6 million per show’.
Yikes.
So strong is the Swift star power that, earlier this year, a city in Germany renamed itself in a tribute to her.
It was one of many ‘surprises’ for Swifties heading to Gelsenkirchen, West Germany, in July, with officials saying they were excited to host ‘the most successful singer in the world’.

In her honour, the city became Swiftkirchen, which we can all agree has a GREAT ring to it.
Markus Schwardtmann, head of the city's public relations department, said: “Today is the starting signal. We will be installing many more signs in highly frequented places in Gelsenkirchen in the coming days.
“There will be many small and large surprises so that the Swifties in Gelsenkirchen have a lot to discover.”

Mayor Karin Welgen added: “As mayor, I am of course very happy that Taylor Swift, currently the most successful singer in the world, will be performing three times in Gelsenkirchen.
“International attention will therefore be back on our city immediately after EURO 2024.”
