Taylor Swift breaks social media silence as she makes first post in 100 days

Taylor Swift has taken an extended break from social media following the end of the Eras Tour

Taylor Swift has returned to social media to congratulate her celebrity bestie after taking a break following the end of the Eras Tour.

For those who've been living under a rock, the world has been absolutely captivated by Swift ever since she embarked on her Eras Tour back in March 2023, which came to an end in December 2024 after 149 shows in 51 cities across five continents.

The hugely successful tour became the highest-grossing of all time and the first to earn over $1 and $2 billion in revenue.

The 35-year-old pop star, who hasn't posted on social media since December 2024 when the mammoth tour came to an end, has taken to Instagram in support of a fellow musician.

Swift congratulated her long-time bestie Selena Gomez on the release of her new album, which is in collaboration with her fiancé producer Benny Blanco.

The album, I Said I Love You First, was released on Friday (21 March), and Swift was quick to share her thoughts on the record.

Posting to her 281 million fans, she said: "@selenagomez & @bennyblanco I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH.

"OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD."

It's safe to say that Swift approved of the new music, which is Gomez's fourth studio album and her first with Blanco, who she got engaged to in December.

The 32-year-old reposted her friend's story, adding: "Love you, Tay."

But the 14-track album doesn't just star Gomez's vocals, songs also include features from Charli XCX, Gracie Abrams, Julia Michaels, and Finneas.

The singer thanked her fiancé for the work he had poured into the project, with a short post on Instagram.

She captioned it: "Benny, thank you for being my own personal journal throughout this process. These songs represent our past, present and future."

She added: "Something I can’t wait to experience with you from now until forever. Thank you for pouring your unconditional love into creating this project with me."

Blanco has had an established career as a music producer, having worked with the likes of Katy Perry, Kesha, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Ed Sheeran.

He also took to Instagram to praise his soon-to-be wife.

Blanco wrote: "Wow…I still can’t believe today is actually real…our secret little album we made in our bedroom is out for the rest of the world to hear.

"I may not be able to remember when we first met over 15 years ago but I do remember our first kiss and how it changed our lives forever."

He added: "I feel like today is different than all of the other times I’ve put albums out because I'm not doing it alone I get to do all the scary parts of being an artist with my best friend by my side."

"This album wouldn’t exist without," he continued.

"Saying you are my rock is an understatement…I couldn’t picture life without you…You may have said I love you first but I'll make sure I never stop saying it… I LOVE U !!! I LOVE U !!! I LOVE U !!!"
