Instead of excitedly preparing for a (hopefully!) sun-soaked weekend of listening to some of their favourite artists performing live, a hoard of Wireless Festival attendees are demanding refunds after a last minute change to the schedule.

In a statement released on Instagram on Thursday (11 July), organisers from Rockstar Energy broke the frustrating news, which has left some ticket-holders questioning whether they should be attending the two day festival at all.

"Rockstar Energy presents Wireless will now finish at 7pm on Sunday 14th July to give plenty of time to travel home to watch the Euro final England vs Spain match," the message read.

Organisers went on to emphasise that, despite a change in schedule, the festival 'is going ahead as planned on Sunday', adding that 'Doja Cat will perform a full headline set'.

Despite attempting to reaffirm the positive news that the shows lead actor 'Say So' singer Doja Cat will retain her position on the main stage, the announcement has left some festival-goers feeling out of pocket.

"so will i get my money back since ive paid for a full day on sunday as opposed to 2 of the better acts being taken away so i can watch football for a team i dont support?" one asked in the comments of the social media announcement.

Another went on to ask: "Are you serious? We paid so much for a 7pm curfew and 2 cancelled artists? I can’t believe this"

"Sorry but can somebody start a pettition for getting or money back for Sunday," a third implored.

A fourth continued: "So i paid €100 for one day FOR THE FULL DAY & you guys have the audacity to just do this? The finals is not my foking problem"

The rap and hip-hop music event - which had it's inception all the way back in 2005, starting off as a rock ceremony - has concluded at 10pm for the last 19 years, meaning a staggering three hours will be shaved off this year's schedule.

The distressing news closely followed the announcement that two of this year's line-up's most eagerly-awaited acts - Tyla and Digga D - have pulled out of the festivities.

In another post made by organisers of the event at London's Finsbury Park, it states: "Flo Milli and Veeze will no longer be performing tomorrow. Tyla and Digga D will no longer be performing on Sunday."

The post claimed that replacement acts would be announced 'shortly', but after a matter of hours, the entire last day festivity was cut short.

Tyla contacted Rockstar Energy and Wireless Festival for comment, where the following reply was received from the latter: "The change in running order and curfew is exclusively to accommodate people wanting to watch the football, no artists have been pulled or sets cut because of this."
