Fans of Adolescence might be intrigued to know that creators of the devastating new crime-drama have provided an update on a potential second instalment.
Just weeks after the four-part series landed on Netflix, there is talk of a second season - with lead actor, producer and co-writer Stephen Graham discussing the show's success.
The show - filmed in single-shot episodes - centres on devoted father Eddie Miller, whose life is turned upside-down when his teenage son, Jamie, is arrested for brutally stabbing one of his female classmates, Katie, to death.
While Graham plays Eddie in the series, TV newbie Owen Cooper plays his on-screen son.
Adolescence's co-creator Jack Thorne previously insisted the debut season would be a stand-alone.
Speaking on ITV's This Morning, the idea of another series focussing on Katie's story was suggested, to which Thorne replied: "I don’t think we’re the right people to tell Katie’s story."
Thorne continued: "I think there are other makers out there that could tell beautiful dramas about Katie or girls like Katie, and that those shows should be made.
"Our aim was to try and tell Jamie’s story as fully as we possibly could, and maybe trying to tell her story would dilute that in some way and maybe we would be inadequate for that task."
Speaking more generally, he continued: "Jamie’s story is finished. I don’t think there’s anywhere more we can take Jamie, so I don’t think there is a series two."
However, following calls for a follow-up season, Stephen Graham has since provided a different update.
Jack Thorne previously claimed there wouldn't be a second series (ITV) The 51-year-old Liverpool actor told Variety today (27 March) that his team are planning to 'see how the figures are'.
"But yeah, there’s the possibility of developing another story," Graham continued.
Graham's wife, fellow actress Hannah Walters - who makes a cameo in the series and worked behind-the-scenes as a producer - also featured in the interview, touching on the idea of a second series.
"A prequel to Adolescence, that’s certainly not going to happen," she explained.
“But there’s so much mileage in the one-shot and so much mileage in investing into human nature again and looking at something else."

"Everyone’s happy, shall we say?"
The show has already become the first ever streaming show to top the UK’s TV weekly charts, and has the highest recorded weekly viewing figures of any streamed series in the UK.
It has also been a critical success, with a 99 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
