Netflix viewers have been urged to watch a '10/10' Christmas thriller that’s being hailed as the 'best film' of 2024.
If you fancy a break from the festive classic canon featuring the likes of The Holiday, Love Actually, Home Alone, and all the rest, this gritty and action-packed watch may be just the thing.
Starring Taron Egerton, Jason Bateman, and Sofia Carson, the film has already climbed its way up to the streamer's 'No. 1 in Films Today' ranking.

The plot follows a young airline security guard named Ethan Kopek, played by Kingsman actor Egerton, who is blackmailed by a mysterious passenger (Bateman) who threatens to smuggle a dangerous package onto a plane on Christmas Eve.
Written by TJ Fixman, the thriller was originally planned to be the first release as part of Netflix's deal with Steven Spielberg's Amblin production company.
This, however, was delayed due to re-writes of the script.

While the film only hit Netflix late last week (13 December), it didn't take long for it to gain popularity among viewers, with many Netflix fans rushing to social media to share their praises.
The film, by the way, is none other than Carry-On, and you can check out the official trailer here:

Apparently, according to the film's director, director Jaume Collet-Serra, Carry-On was inspired by fellow Crimbo classic, Die Hard.
Collet-Serra, who also directed horror films including classics such as House of Wax, Orphan, and The Shallows, told the BBC: "Everyone wants to make the next Die Hard and the reality is that no one ever will - it’s a perfect movie that can’t be replicated, and also a very specific product of its time."
He added: "But when I read the script for Carry-On, I felt like I had found a more grounded version of Die Hard - which was our North Star for the entire process - for a new generation."
