Summer is sadly drawing to a close, but thankfully, this can only mean one thing - spooky season is officially around the corner!
To mark the occasion, there's a blood-curdling new demonic film that's recently been added to Netflix, which even the most hard-faced of 'horror heads' are claiming left them totally unable to sleep at night.
And to set your teeth even further on edge, this spine-tingling hit is based on the true tale of a US paranormal case.
We are, of course, talking about The Deliverance, which was released just a matter of weeks ago (16 August), and stars huge-name actors, including Glenn Close, Andra Day, Mo'Nique and Caleb McLaughlin.

The feature-length film tells the story of a family with young children, who move into an ancient property in Indiana, unbeknownst to them that the house is actually a portal directly connecting their small-town community, to hell.
It is only when they begin noticing particularly strange things happening to them without any explanation that the horrific truth finally dawns upon the family.
The movie has since been added to the watchlists of countless fans, with one writing on social media since its release: "Bring on the nightmares!"
Another added: "Damn! Gotta watch it"

And while this may sound like the plot to countless horror blockbusters which have been released over the years, The Deliverance is loosely based on a harrowing true event, experienced by a real woman named Latoya Ammons back in 2011.
That year, Latoya, her mother Rosa and three children hit headlines across the States after claiming to have fallen victim to a demonic possession.
In the weeks prior, the family had relocated to a new home, only to be subjected to relentless torment at the hands of allegedly dark spirits.

The Ammons family claimed black flies swarmed their porch, and resurrected minutes after being killed.
When no one was home, Latoya said she heard footsteps pacing through the property's basement, and across the upstairs corridors.
She witnessed the shadow of a man appear in her living room, and found a boot print belonging to a male, despite the house only being occupied by women and children.
Rosa claimed she was choked by a malevolent ghost in the middle of the night, while one of Latoya's children alleged that she'd levitated above her bed during a sleepover with a friend.

It's said that her son was thrown across the room by an invisible force that had possessed him, before his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he allegedly told his family: "It's time to die," and "I will kill you."
Police and reporters were forced to intervene in the case.
And though many investigating officers fell into the impression that Latoya and her family may be suffering some sort of mental breakdown, others believed vengeful spirits were responsible for the family's turmoil.

Police captain Charles Austin told press at the time that he believed paranormal activity occurred in the house, and a photo published by the Indianapolis Star claimed to show a 'shadowy figure' haunting the property when no one was home.
Eventually, the family hired a priest to perform an exorcism on the property and its inhabitants.
Though the holy ritual was deemed a successful, the family quickly sold their home and fled.
The Deliverance is available to stream on Netflix now.
