Despite only having landed on Netflix a matter of hours ago, a brand new thriller has sky-rocketed straight to the No. 1 spot.

And apparently, this streaming service banger has set tongues wagging all over the world for one particular reason.

For those who haven't yet caught wind of this star-studded limited series, it tells the tale of the overtly wealthy Winbury family, notorious across the US living it up in affluent area of Nantucket, near Cape Cod.

When one of the family's sons announces at a colossal beachside get-together he plans to wed his new, middle-class girlfriend, his family - namely his formidable matriarch mother, whose also an acclaimed author of murder mystery novels, just saying - are unable to hide their distaste.

Their priorities are forced to shift, however, when the following morning, a body is discovered lying on the sand, with police fingers pointing at each and every member of the family for different - yet equally chilling - reasons.

Basically, it's a classic whodunnit with a boujee twist? Imagine Agatha Christie meets Inventing Anna meets Sex In The City.

I know, it's the collab we never knew we needed.

And as we say, the series - called The Perfect Couple - looks as though it's attracted all sorts of five-star attention for one particular reason.

Before you guess - no, it's not the riveting murder plot, the plush coastal filming locations OR the immaculately seductive script.

Although, we can't deny that these factors have got us wanting to sink our teeth back into it already.

No, it's lead actor Nicole Kidman's knock-out performance as the Winbury's family robust leader that has kept viewers encapsulated from the very first episode.

As if we should be surprised - I mean, she is the owner of an Academy Award, not to mention the six Golden Globes she also had on her CV.

And by the sounds of things, viewers can't seem to stop raving about her latest project.

"Nicole Kidman was BORN to play the rich wife - Big Little Lies, The Undoing, now The Perfect Couple," one penned on social media.

Another added: "Plot twist: Nicole Kidman’s accent is the actual perfect couple, and the rest of us are just the confused third wheel."

A third commented: "I'm watching The Perfect Couple. Starting Nicole Kidman. I'm a big fan of hers. It's really good. The other actors are good but she's the main reason I watch it."

Another went on: "A drama/mystery show is a certified hit if Nicole Kidman stars in it. first Big Little Lies and now The Perfect Couple."

Hollywood legend Liev Schreiber also stars alongside Nicole in the six-part series hit as her husband, Tag Winbury.

Billy Howle takes on the role of Benji Winbury, the doting groom, while Eve Hewson plays his bride, Amelia Sacks.

The Perfect Couple also stars the likes of Dakota Fanning, Meghann Fahy and Donna Lynne Champlin.

The Perfect Couple is available to stream on Netflix now.
