Selena Gomez is thought by some to have 'planned' a hilarious moment at last night's Emmy Awards.
The awards ceremony saw Gomez nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series award, as a result of her work in Only Murders in the Building.
The popular drama has a total of four seasons to date and stars Gomez as Mabel Mora, a young artist who turns into an amateur sleuth.

Also starring Steve Martin and Martin Short, the show has been a critical success, and in 2021, was reported to be the most-watched comedy premiere in the history of the Hulu network.
Many people thought Gomez was primed to take home the gong, but instead it was awarded to Jean Smart, for her role in Hacks.
Gomez politely smiled and clapped along for her peer, but some people think the manner in which she did so may well have been planned.

Well, in a previous appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Gomez and her Only Murders in the Building co-stars discussed what would happen if they didn't win any awards.
Host Fallon asked Gomez: "If you don't win, are you practicing your, kind of, losing face?"
Gomez said: "Oh yeah."

When asked to practice it on the spot and show the audience, Gomez clapped, smiled and mouthed something to the person next to her.
Some fans have pointed out that it's uncannily similar to her actual clapping and smiling at last night's Emmys.
A fan update account for the star put the two side by side and wrote: "Selena Gomez doing her practiced applause for if she lost at the EMMYs."
One person responded: "SHES SO FUNNY."

Another said: "Winning or losing, Selena’s a star! Love her dedication to being gracious."
A third added: "Selena Gomez turning a potential loss into a winning moment of humor!"

Upon her win for Hacks, Smart joked: "Thank you so, so much, so humbling, I really appreciate this because I don’t get enough attention."
She added: "I have so many people to thank, starting with our brilliant showrunners.
"Jen [Statsky], Paul [W. Downs] and Lucia [Aniello]. I will never be able to thank you enough for thinking of me.
"Casey [Bloys] and everybody at HBO… Max… no, I’m sorry. Just what we needed, another network.”
