Gen Z are only just realising how Friends was actually filmed and their minds have been well and truly blown.
Now, there are a bunch of differences between generations, but this total chasm of TV knowledge has left even me (a self-proclaimed Zillennial) totally lost for words.
It all started when Lisa Kudrow, who plays the beloved Phoebe Buffay on the hit sitcom, opened up how she really felt filming Friends.
Speaking on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, the 60-year-old Primetime Emmy award-winning star explained exactly why the audience p*ssed her off so much.

"Because they were laughing for too long," she recalled. "It wasn’t that funny. That’s why.
"It wasn’t an honest response and it irritated me. Now you’re just ruining the timing of the rest of the show. There are other lines."
Lisa continued: "Sometimes I would just look out if they’d been laughing too long, and go, 'Come on'. Really angry."
She carried on: "A TV show is not for the studio audience. It is made for the TV viewers at home. That’s who we are in service to.

"If it was a stage play, yeah laugh as long as you want. I’ll figure out things to keep my character busy waiting to continue with it. That’s fine.
"It’s being filmed and now I’m just standing there … you do like nod, 'Yeah, I said that'. It’s terrible. They instructed our audience not to do anything like that, I think."
Following the interview, many fans took to social media to share their reactions to Lisa's comments.

And, while a heap of peeps agreed with the actress, a whole bunch of others revealed they were totally none the wiser that there was a live studio audience in the first place and actually thought it was simply a pre-loaded recording of laughter.
One X user hit out: "Wait … there’s an actual audience??? I thought it was just some button they press and laughs come in lmao."
"Wait there was an audience?" echoed a second.

A third admitted: "I was today years old when I learned it was filmed in front of a live studio audience."
"IT WAS LIVE?" questioned a fourth while another piped up: "There's an actual audience??? Wtf."
That's definitely one sure-fire way to make people feel old.
And a final X user quipped: "The replies have me rollinggggg y'all never heard of a live studio audience??"
