The Hairy Bikers' Si King has heartbreakingly opened up about losing his best friend and co-star Dave Myers to cancer earlier this year.
Dave was 66 years old when he passed away, and the final episodes of The Hairy Bikers were released posthumously.
He and Si met back in 1995 on the set of TV drama The Gambling Man and quickly discovered they shared a love for eating, drinking and motorcycling.

They released their first show together in 2004, sparking a two decade TV partnership.
Tragically, in 2022 Myers announced he had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. He died in February this year.
King said at the time that he would 'miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime'.

In a first-person piece for the Sunday Times published over the weekend, Si opened up further about his grief following the loss of his dear friend.
The 57-year-old said: "I'll be honest with you, the past few months have been a struggle.
"More than once I was on the verge of jumping on my bike and heading into the sunset. Not tell anyone where I was going. Just clear off and never come back."

He detailed the anger he's felt, sharing: "Other times I was raging. Raging at the bloody disease, at God and anything else I could think of. People were asking me what I was going to do next.
"But even if I end up doing nothing more than making bacon sarnies and playing a few gigs with my band, that's fine by me. Happy days!"
Si and Dave had appeared as The Hairy Bikers on over 30 TV shows, becoming a staple of British television.

Si reflected: "I'd like to think we made a little bit of difference, here and there."
"Just two regular blokes, having a go at beef rendang or apple pie. Hopefully we caught the attention of people who didn't normally watch swanky cooking programmes on telly."
Prior to his passing, Dave chose to keep his specific type of cancer private.
At the time, he said: "I don’t want newspapers to run a lottery on how long I’ve got to live. That’s not what I want. I felt so guilty because of the effects it’s having on my wife."

Dave's wife Liliana wrote on Instagram following his death: "I feel I’m grieving with a whole nation… and this is something special. My wonderful Dave."
