Viewers horrified after witnessing ‘worst’ sex scene ever in highly controversial moment

Viewers horrified after witnessing ‘worst’ sex scene ever in highly controversial moment

Even in a show filled with violence and incest, it seems the audience has limits

Viewers of what was already a pretty disturbing show have been left absolutely horrified after bearing witness to the 'worst' sex scene yet.

House of the Dragon is no stranger to gore and depravity, with the series having explicit sex scenes, full frontal nudity and plenty of violence for fantasy fans.

The series hasn't been shy about these elements either, with the show's first ever episode containing a 'disturbing' birth scene where Queen Aemma (Sian Brooke) is cut open in an attempt to deliver her baby.

Like Game of Thrones before it, House of the Dragon has already set out its stall as a shocking show with scenes that'll challenge the viewer, but one particular moment from the latest episode might just take the cake.

In this season of the HBO show, Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) has been hanging around Harrenhal in an attempt to assemble an army that can knock Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) off the Iron Throne.

While he's meant to be doing this to place his niece-wife Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) there, Daemon seems to be spending his days putting together this army for his own purpose, saying he's willing to share the throne if Rhaenyra shows up for it.

While that occupies his days, Daemon is spending his nights in the haunted castle of Harrenhal absolutely tripping balls.

He's already been seeing things, including the younger version of his niece-wife (Milly Alcock) chastising him before he slays the vision of her, and in the latest episode 'Regent', he was seen having another vision.

This time, he was having a tryst with another Valyrian woman (Emeline Lambert) we haven't seen before who was singing his praises while they got intimate.

While he's betwixt her legs, she tells him he was 'always the strong one', calling him 'the finest swordsman' and a 'fearless dragon rider' before saying he was 'made to wear' a crown.

So far, so weird, but pretty in-keeping with the strange vibes Harrenhal has been putting out thus far on the show.

Then she calls Daemon 'my favourite son', and the entire House of the Dragon audience recoiled in disgust to realise that one of the show's main characters was having a vision about sleeping with his mother, Alyssa Targaryen.

A lot of viewers might have thought Daemon was already quite a motherf**ker considering he murdered his first wife with a rock, seduced his niece and hired assassins who ended up murdering his great-nephew.

However, to see actual mother-son incest depicted on screen was too much for many House of the Dragon viewers - and this is a fandom which has seen plenty of incest.

Viewers said the sex scene was the 'worst' they'd seen, calling it 'next level disgusting', while others just wanted to know 'WHAT THE F**K' was going on.

Some viewers declared they 'just wanna erase it from my memory', and we can't really blame them.

"This Harrenhal arc must end," someone else said, and plenty of viewers agreed that it was 'so cringe, disgusting and absolutely unnecessary'.

House of the Dragon is available to stream on NOW, with new episodes landing on Mondays.
