The 2024 I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! line-up was released last week

The 2024 series of I'm A Celeb is officially just around the corner, which means this year's big-name contestants will spend the next few weeks packing their Aussie bush hats into their duffel bags, all the while mentally preparing themselves for the scare-fest ahead.

Apparently, however, when it comes to getting ready for their three-week-long stay in the jungle, there two vital rules that ITV's line-up of celebs must follow so as not to be axed from the show.

As we say, it's only a matter of days until this year's instalment of the star-studded series takes to our screens, with Ant and Dec set to reprise their long-standing role as hosts.

The show's official line-up was announced last week and by the sounds of it, we're in for a wild ride.

On Sunday 17th November, McFly singer Danny Jones will be helicoptered Down Under, where he'll be joined by the likes of Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse, Loose Women panellist Jane Moore, Radio 1 star Dean McCullough, N-Dubz performer Tulisa and boxing promoter, Barry McGuigan.

The line-up will also see television presenter Melvin Odoom taking part, alongside Coronation Street's Alan Halsall, Love Island bombshell Maura Higgins, radio host and author Reverend Richard Coles, much-loved WAG Coleen Rooney, and TikTok influencer GK Barry.

Despite being talented mega-stars in their own right, however, the camp-mates must all follow a certain set of rules when it comes to packing to make it fair for all involved.

So what are some of these strict rules?

The uniform

Despite being provided with a uniform - consisting of khaki shorts, a matching shirt with their names written on the back, a couple of white vest tops, some bright red t-shirts and matching burgundy socks - you might be surprised to learn that contestants do have a little bit of freedom to jazz them up any way they see fit.

One recent star who took this allowance very literally is musician Boy George who, back in 2022, attached red felt spots to his shirt and customised his hat to resemble a crown.

Limited pairs of underwear/swimwear

Interestingly, another rule also states that each campmate is only permitted to bring three sets or underwear to use throughout the duration of their time on the show, and three sets of swimwear - bringing their allowance to a grand total of six.

So, where you may have thought clips of them violently scrubbing their knickers and undies in the creek was simply for dramatic affect, you'd be very wrong...

Only one luxury item allowed

Any long-term fan of IAC will know by now that each celebrity is permitted to bring with them one luxury item.

These are usually earned by the camp as part of trials and competitions when the series reached it's midway point as a means of boosting moral.

Whether it be their uber-comfy pillow, a picture of their children, or a tube of mascara, luxury items are personal, hence why only one is permitted per star.

Several former contestants have been punished in the past for sneaking in contraband items - including Gillian McKeith, who previously smuggled mints, almonds and tea bags into camp.
