I’m A Celeb winner Danny Jones will be forced to return prize after winning show

The McFly singer was crowned King of the Jungle during last night's I'm A Celeb final

Last night's eagerly-anticipated I’m A Celeb final saw Danny Jones being crowned this year's King of the Jungle, but there's one catch to his victory.

ITV viewers watched on as Coleen Rooney was announced as the runner-up to the throne while latecomer Reverend Richard Coles made it to the third place spot.

However, Danny won't be able to keep his prize for long as he'll be forced to return it at some point in the future.

Fans of the reality TV programme were clearly stoked about the McFly singer's win,

with one I'm A Celeb fan writing: "Congratulations Danny, so well deserved."

Another said: "Really pleased for Danny. Top bloke, shown so many times it’s okay as a man to be vulnerable and show emotion even on live TV."

"Congrats to Danny! Could easily have been Coleen - they have both been great! Worthy top three finalists!" gushed a third

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "Yes Danny lad! All my votes every single one went to him no regrets, a kind, decent, chilled, funny, upbeat campmate."

The 38-year-old father-of-one has taken over the throne from Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson, who emerged as victor in last year's season.

Now, as we know, Danny was given a crown and staff to officially crown him as the King of the Jungle - but it seems he won't be allowed to hold onto it for long.

Last year, Sam revealed he was forced to return the item.

Speaking onThis Morning following his win, the presenters asked him why he'd not brought his accolades along to the segment to which he revealed: "I didn't get to keep anything! They wouldn't let me keep anything!"

Laughing, he went on to say: "I had to give the sceptre back. I really wanted to bring it through airport security because it's quite big.

"But yeah, I don't have anything to show for it."

And that's not all as Danny also won't be receiving a cash prize for the win.

Now, any seasoned viewers will know by now that any celeb given the title of Queen or King of the Jungle will receive a crown, staff and the chance to sit on the iconic I'm A Celeb throne.

However, it's not as common knowledge that whoever does take home the victory won't actually be going home with a cushy cash prize.

The reason for the decision is because ITV has decided the contestants will only receive a flat fee for appearing on the show.

According to Metro, the only condition for receiving such a fee is that campmates must remain in the jungle for at least 72 hours.

This means that, whether a campmates wins or not, they won't be taking home a lump sum cash prize, but will instead leave the jungle with a pre-agreed set fee under the condition of making it through the first three days.

While the celebs are paid a flat fee to appear on I'm A Celeb, the amount reportedly varies from contestant to contestant with the number going up depending on how famous the star in question is.
