Married at First Sight UK groom Alex Henry has explained what he really meant when he made the famous 'wife swap' comment at the start of the series.
In the very first episode of the most recent series of MAFS UK, Alex made a questionable comment at the stag do.
Although he made the remark before he had met wife Holly Ditchfield, the comment seems to have followed Alex around for a much of the series so far.

The drama kicked off when Alex was sitting with the other grooms and discussed what he would do if he didn't find his wife attractive.
"What if I’m not attracted to my wife and there is another lady that I am attracted to? You have to consider every option," he said.
"Just because you've been matched up to somebody doesn't mean you are going to like them."

The comment didn't go down well, especially with bride Charlie who was at the stag do when the remark was made.
"So go and be single yourself outside of this experiment then!" Charlie said, to which Alex responded: "Everyone has taken my point of view like as if I am here to steal someones wife."
When Holly found out about the comment at the first dinner party, she wasn't impressed and ended up storming out after a huge row erupted.

Following the drama, Alex has spoken out about the comment, explaining what he meant.
"It's a little bit irritating that this wife swap comment keeps coming up," Alex said on Instagram.
"It was so long ago and on top of that, it's the way it's been put across. You guys only get to see snippets of what truly happened.
"That wife swap conversation probably lasted 30-45 minutes... all I was saying was that if I don't like who walks down the aisle then we can be friends but I'm not going to try to be attracted to somebody.

"You're either attracted to somebody or you're not. It can grow over time, that can happen... sometimes it's a slow burner, sometimes it's an instant attraction."
Alex continued: "If out here, I'm not attracted to someone, I'm not going to pursue them. Don't expect me to go on a TV show and be forcing things, it's a waste of time.
"Leave the process or, if there's somebody else in another marriage that feels the same way I do in terms of she's not attracted to her partner, then... we've seen previous seasons of Married at First Sight, let's not act like people haven't recoupled on it before. It happens, it's happened in the past."
