Last night's episode of Married At First Sight UK was an extremely emotional one indeed after Kieran’s bombshell admission left Kristina fighting back tears.

Channel 4 viewers have loved tuning into the pair's relationship throughout the weeks but it's clear that yesterday's viewing (21 October) had many of us at home reaching for the tissues.

Have a look:

At one point during the episode, when Kieran and Kristina were chatting with the experts, the groom made a very candid confession about how he sees his future.

"This is going to be hard to hear. I think it's something you've probably heard before, and I really don't want to be the guy that says it," he began.

The reality TV star continued: "I'm really questioning at the minute if I'm able to sustain a relationship with someone that suffers with PMDD."

Now, Kristina's been really open about how she deals with PMDD - premenstrual dysphoric disorder - which is a serious health condition that causes severe physical and emotional symptoms in the week or two before your period.

It causes more severe symptoms than PMS, including severe depression, irritability, fatigue and headaches.

Kristina, welling up with tears at this point, replied: "I know Kieran, which is why I've like, said to you from day one, whatever you say to me, it's nothing I haven't heard before. It's like, it's fine."

Expert Mel Schilling then interjected: "Kristina, it's not fine. This is not fine for you."

"No, but I like, I understand, I understand, and respect Kieran's feelings in this," Kristina explained before Mel asked: "But what about your feelings?"

"Well," Kristina admitted, "it's f*cking sh*t.

"This is why I prepare myself for the worst in every situation, and I live in the moment for every good bit that I have."

Kieran then assured: "I'm not saying that I don't want to be with you because I do.

"I've got questions. Of course, I think everyone in this room's got questions about their relationship, but I'm not saying I don't want to be with you. That's not what I'm saying."

This prompted Kristina to admit: "Right, now all I've got in my head is, if you can't, if you're gonna struggle, it's gonna be a struggle for life, because I can't change."

"Everything takes work," Kieran continued, "and I'm prepared to work at it, Kristina, and I'll work at it until there's no bones left."

After watching the tear-jerking scenes, MAFS UK viewers rushed to social media to share their reactions, with one X user writing: "Protect Kristina at all costs!! She is so wonderful and deserves all the love in the world. I believe Kieran can be the one to give her that."

"'Everything takes work and I’ll work until there’s no bones left'," quoted another. "Good lad Kieran."

A third chimed in: "Was counting on these two for some relief to all the drama then Kieran goes and drops that bomb."

And a final X user echoed: "Absolutely gutted for Kristina!!

"Give it to Kieran though, that must have been hard.. but if he’s struggling now then he won’t be able to come to terms with it in the future.

"Thought they would be the ones as well."

Married at First Sight UK airs every Monday to Thursday at 9pm on E4.
