Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story hit our screens late last month (19 September) and, since then, the world has found a renewed interested in the harrowing double murder case.
The controversial Netflix series, fronted by Ryan Murphy, explores the real-life case that saw Erik and Lyle Menendez murder their allegedly abusive parents back in 1989.
However, eagle-eyed fans of the TV show have since made a bizarre discovery after seeing them in the background of a famous photo taken only months after committing the double-murder.
Taking to the 'Interesting as F*ck' thread on Reddit, one true crime fan shared a photo of an NBA Hoops Knicks basketball card of Mark Jackson which featured the two brothers in the crowd.

Based on this, as the exact date of the game isn't noted on the card itself, we can deduce that the photo must have been taken between November 1989 and March 8th, 1990.
Back in 2018, crime writer Stephen Zerance was one of the first people to identify the brother's on the trading card.
"My friend and I, who is also a true-crime head, knew that the brothers went on a lavish spending spree after they got an insurance payout from their parent’s death," he told SLAM in January 2019.

"Ooooh I remember this it stunned me first time I saw this!" quipped a second.
