Netflix fans have made an urgent plea to anyone who has only watched one episode of a twisted new thriller which just landed on the platform yesterday (1 January).

Kicking off 2025 with a bang, the streamer released the eagerly-anticipated five-parter which is an adaptation of one of Harlan Coben's many novels originally published back in 2014.

It stars Slow Horses actor Rosalind Eleazar who steps into the shoes of protagonist Detective Kat Donovan.

Now, Kat discovers that some secrets are best left in the past when she mysteriously matches with her fiancé Josh (Ashley Walters) on a dating app - the same man who went ‘missing’ from her life 11 years ago.

As she investigates the case of a missing person, Josh’s reappearance forces her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.

As well as Eleazar and Top Boy's Walters, the limited series also stars Marc Warren, Jessica Plummer, Richard Armitage, Sir Lenny Henry, James Nesbitt and Matt Willis.

The Netflix series in question is none other than Missing You and you can watch the official trailer here:

And, following the hype surrounding the latest Harlan Coben series, it's clear fans were seriously divided on their verdict.

Many took to social media to share their 'disappointment' over Missing You, with one person writing: "I had higher expectations for the Harlan Coben - Missing You series on Netflix. Not going to lie… that was super disappointing."

Another revealed: "There must be something wrong with me (I’ve watched too many top scandì crimes series) because Missing You on Netflix is not floating my boat."

And a third chimed in: "I watched the first episode gave up on it I didn't think it was up to much!"

Others, however, couldn't have loved it more and urged any critics to see the series through to the end instead of giving up after the first or second episode.

"Go back and stick with it!" one urged.

Another X user gushed: "Harlan Coben's Missing You is an impressive thriller series that will raise your curiosity since the 1st episode.

"Just finished binge watching for all 5 episodes today. It's a must watch!! 10/10!"

"Binged watched Missing You on Netflix today, it was sooo good!" penned another, while someone else admitted: "Started 'Missing You' on Netflix tonight and l am not a series gal but this is amazing!"

One viewer gushed: "Nothing better than binge-watching the new @HarlanCoben, cuddled up in the warm, when the weather is bleak outside!"

And a final X user echoed: "Did anybody watch Missing You on Netflix? That sh*t was CRAZY AS HELL but very good. Like there was at least 3 diff storylines going on at once."

Missing You is currently available to stream on Netflix.
