Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan has spoken out about finding season three slightly 'terrifying' to film.
Dearest gentle readers, what could be so 'terrifying' about filming the highly anticipated third season of Netflix's hit period drama Bridgerton? I hear you ask.
Well, who else should tell you but the Lady Whistledown herself, a.k.a. Penelope Featherington, played by Irish actor Coughlan.
In an interview ahead of her latest movie Seize Them!, Coughlan told Tyla she's 'really excited' for the third installment of Bridgerton.

The 37-year-old actor told us: "I feel like I've been waiting forever. And I feel like the fans of the show have been waiting forever."
However, she admitted it was also a pretty 'terrifying' season for her to film - but why?
Coughlan feels the third season of the much-loved show is 'the most romantic' yet as her character steps into the limelight with her very own 'rom-com moments'.

"We'd have moments on set where the crew would be like, ‘Oh, that's really beautiful. And that's the kind of love everyone deserves'," she said.
Coughlan continued: "And when the crew say, you know, they're not, like BS-ing you. Like, they actually mean it.
"And then when they react, you're like: 'Oh, okay, I think we're onto something'."
She teased the third season is 'really funny' while also being 'very action-packed', adding that there's even a 'cliffhanger midway' too. "So, there's two parts, and I'm very excited."

But the 'terrifying' part?
Coughlan explained the season sees Penelope 'get to do the romance' which she said 'was terrifying' at first.
However, she quickly noted she 'loved it', telling us she had an 'amazing time'.

The star noted her character is one she thinks 'a lot of people will relate to', resolving: "I think she's someone who feels invisible and I think anyone that's ever felt like that is going to really connect to the story."
And if you can't wait until Bridgerton's release to see Coughlan back on screen again?
Well, thankfully, you can catch her in Seize Them! - a fresh, feral and feisty female-led comedy that we've been calling out for, absolutely finessed by Coughlan and Sex Education's Aimee Lou Wood.

Coughlan takes on the side-splitting, axe-twirling (although, she admitted to Tyla she couldn't quite get the hang of it so they had to get a hand double in) and 'great' Humble Joan.
Raucous, perfectly paced, topped off with plenty of poo - Wood noting there was actually 'a lot of accidental animal poo' on their clothes - Seize Them! channels a fresher and female-strong Monty Python.
As Coughlan told Tyla: "It's just fun to see women in those roles that you'd only expect a bunch of dudes to be in." And I couldn't have put it better myself.
Part one of Bridgerton season three is currently set for release on Netflix on 16 May, 2024 with the second part following on 13 June, 2024.
Seize Them! opens in UK & Irish cinemas 5th April.
