A moment from the 97th Academy Awards have seemingly hit thousands of viewers in the feels.
After the directors of the Oscar-winning Iranian animation In the Shadow of the Cypress - Shirin Sohani and Hossein Molayemi - took to the stage to thank their fans for the prestigious accolade, the pair apologised for their English language abilities.
The duo had members of the audience in fits of laughter, after subsequently fighting over a phone, upon which they'd apparently written their speech in English for ease.

And as we say, the sweet scene has left viewers watching the awards from home feeling all types of ways, but definitely emotional.

Many began by heaping praise onto producers of the ceremony for allowing the victors to make their speech without being encouraged to leave the stage with closing music.
One wrote on social media: "Thankfully they didn't play those winners off, it always gives me anxiety when winners take long especially if they aren't native English speakers cause it's not their fault!! Give them time Oscars."

Defending the duo, another gushed: "tbf it’s the first time I’ve seen that the oscars didn’t play off somebody whose clearly struggling to speak in English so I’m glad they didn’t play them off."
"I think they speak English perfectly fine," a third added.
"Awwwwww don’t apologise for the english," another penned online.
Another viewer went on to say: "You know what, thank you for not playing them off when English is not their native tongue".

A sixth continued: "It’s heartwarming to see people who don’t speak English as their first language win #Oscars - The fact that they just got the visa omg.

"It’s such a privilege to be an American. So easy to take that for granted!"
The cartoon film went up against fellow animators Nicolas Keppens and Brecht Van Elslande for Beautiful Men, Daisuke Nishio and Takashi Washio for Magic Candies, Nina Gantz and Stienette Bosklopper for Wander to Wonder, and Loïc Espuche and Juliette Marquet for Yuck!.
