Shannen Doherty explained why she wasn't afraid of dying before her tragic passing on Saturday (13 July).
Doherty's publicist, Leslie Sloane, revealed to People that the 53-year-old had 'lost her battle with cancer'.

"It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty." the statement read.
"On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.
"The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie.

"The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace."
The Charmed star received a diagnosis of breast cancer in 2015.
After undergoing surgery and treatment, she revealed her cancer had gone into remission in 2017.
However, in 2020, the Beverley Hills 90210 actor announced that her cancer had returned, and that she now had stage four breast cancer.

Sadly, she said that the cancer had also spread to her brain and her bones.
After the news of her passing, many took to social media to share their condolences.
Fellow actress Viola Davis, of How To Get Away With Murder fame, shared footage on Instagram of Doherty talking about dying and her feelings surrounding it.

Davis captioned the video: "Your bravery and ability to share your Cancer journey left something "in" people.
"Rest well. God bless your loved ones."
In the video, which was shot by People, Doherty says: "I'm not afraid of death because I know where I'm going.
"I know the people that I'm going to see. I think I would be afraid of death if I wasn't a good person, but I am."

She continued: "I don't want to die - that's the difference.
"I'm not afraid of dying, I just don't want to die, like ever."
One person wrote: "RIP Shannen... and everyone else that's lost the battle and/or a loved one to cancer.
"Hopefully, one day, cures will be available.
"She fought this battle so hard. Anyone that followed her journey on IG could clearly see that."
One person wrote: "Cancer is such an evil, awful thing. She fought so hard and with such grace."
While another said: "Was just watching Charmed last night…she was a part of my childhood. So heartbroken for her family, friends and fans."
