A writer for The Simpsons had an eerie admission about the infamous Donald Trump episode.
The TV show has long been associated with predicting some big world events, including the cost of living crisis and even the 'Hawk Tuah' girl.
In one notable episode, titled 'Bart to the Future', which aired in 2000, the show even predicted that Donald Trump would become president.
Writer Dan Greaney has since spoken about the meaning behind it, making a rather creepy admission.

“It was a warning to America,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2016.
“And that just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom. It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane.”
In the ep, Lisa becomes president of the US, telling her staff: “As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump.”
Initially, people thought it was a reference to Trump's attempt to run as a candidate for the Reform Party in 2000, but became especially relevant when he became president in 2017.

As we know, he's just been sworn in for a second time, following a successful election in November last year.
“The important thing is that Lisa comes into the presidency when America is on the ropes, and that is the condition left by the Trump presidency,” Greaney continued. “What we needed was for Lisa to have problems that were beyond her fixing, that everything went as bad as it possibly could, and that’s why we had Trump be president before her.”
Many think the show also 'predicted' Kamala Harris' potential presidency, sharing side-by-side photos of her in a similar purple suit to Lisa.

However, one viewer pointed out: “But The Simpson prophesy says she's President AFTER Trump."
Another added: “President Lisa Said ‘We inherited a crunch of debt from President Trump’."
Someone else asked: “So Kamala is going to win in 2028? After the next Trump presidency?”

Trump officially became the 47th president of the United States on Monday (20 January) and has already made some big changes.
During the day's proceedings, he signed off several executive orders, memorandums and proclamations at Capital One Arena, before heading to the Oval Office.
Some of the orders he's signed off on include withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Health Organisation (WHO), as well as changes to birthright citizenship, delaying the TikTok ban and only recognising two genders - male and female.
Trump has also signed pardons for around 1,500 defendants who took part in the US Capitol riots back in January 2021, following Joe Biden's election victory.
