True crime lovers have been proper spoilt as of late and it seems the genre is the gift that just keeps on giving.
We've enjoyed Netflix's harrowing Baby Reindeer as well as the eerie What Jennifer Did doc but, just yesterday (22 April), a brand-new doc dropped and people are going absolutely wild for it.
Viewers have since hailed the gripping documentary they've been waiting on for nearly a decade now as 'true crime at its peak'.

Let's rewind some years back, specifically nine years back, to 2015 when The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst first hit our screens.
The six-part groundbreaking docuseries, directed and produced by Andrew Jarecki, dove into the extremely bizarre history of real estate heir, Robert Durst.
Durst was long suspected in the still-unsolved 1982 disappearance of his wife as well as the subsequent murders of family friend Susan Berman and neighbour Morris Black.

The doc came about after nearly a decade of research by the filmmakers, who expose police files, key witnesses, never-before-seen footage, private prison recordings, and thousands of pages of formerly hidden documents.
The night before the last episode aired, Durst was arrested for Berman's murder.
He ended up behind bars for possession of a gun as a felon in 2016, before he was found guilty of Berman's murder in 2021 and sentenced to life in prison.

Prosecutors hoped to convict him of the murder of his first wife too, but he died in 2022 before he could stand trial.
Now, nine years on from the OG doc, The Jinx: Part II has finally landed on our screens - and clearly there's a lot to catch up on.
