The new Wicked film is upon us, and it seems like people are only just realising where they’ve seen both stars Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey on their screens before.
After three seasons of Bridgerton, where Bailey plays the beautiful Anthony Bridgerton, fans were treated to his character in the prequel to the famous The Wizard of Oz, which has been adapted from its Broadway production.
Starring Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda The Good Witch, Bailey took on the role of Fiyero.
His little flirting session with Glinda was fantastic and their romance was something that fans loved to see, but something about seeing Erivo and Bailey on-screen together made people realise that the pair have a past connection to a TV show.

And nope, it’s not Bridgerton.
If you’re scratching your head about where they could have worked together, cast your memory back to the years between 2015 and 2017.
A UK comedy show on E4 was all the rage, and it was created by the hilarious genius Michaela Coel.
Jog your memory?

Of course, it’s Chewing Gum, and fans are going mad about it.
Taking to social media, people who have clocked on that the pair both featured on the hilarious comedy, have been redirecting people to their scenes.
One person wrote: “CYBTHIA ERIVO IN CHEWING GUM I NEED TO GO REWATCH.”

The sitcom was a staple on TV for those who wanted to equally cringe and laugh at the same time after following the life of Tracy (Coel) and her insane antics when it came to dating and life.
But if you’re wondering where Erivo and Bailey factor into this, it’s all in two separate episodes.
For Erivo, she played an incredibly religious 'frienemy' of Tracy’s for an episode, whilst Bailey…
Well, he played a man with a secret family who had a fetish for making women of colour do race play in the form of wearing tribal outfits and performing ‘traditional’ dances.

It was a proper messed up revelation when he began to explain his ‘positive discrimination’ fetish, particularly as it was in front of his young sons and wife, who knew all too well about what he got up with in his free time.
Erivo has previously spoken about Coel providing her with a role on her show as she explained to Elle Magazine how ‘nobody was giving young black girls television roles in the UK’.
She thanked the actress and producer for giving her a start in the industry, and in another interview, she said that it’s a ‘full circle’ moment for her and Bailey to have began in Chewing Gum and ended up together in Wicked, citing that it’s all thanks to Coel.
