Lucozade Sport's New Bottle Is Being Called 'A Mouth Violation'

Lucozade Sport is well-known for its energy-boosting properties and delicious taste.

But now, drinkers have hilariously called the new bottle cap ‘a mouth violation’. 

Taking to Reddit, one fan of the Isotonic sports drink explained how following a trip to the shops to pick up their favourite drink, they were met with the bottles’ ‘new robust design’.

“Popped the cap and went for a drink. What came next can only be described as a mouth violation.

“You see, not only have they changed the cap, but they've also changed the flow mechanism we all know and love. It's now an uncontrollable torrent of Lucozade Sport,” the shopper wrote in great detail.

Taking to Reddit, one fan of the Isotonic sports drink explained how following a trip to the shops to pick up their favourite drink, they were met with the bottles’ ‘new robust design’ (Reddit u/Edifer454).

“I feel violated at the amount I was forced to drink on just one squeeze. My wife gave it a go and she had a reaction I've seen many times before which only confirms how bad these new changes are,” they quipped.

The Reddit user also explained that the new changes were down to ‘the sphincter portion’ of the bottle, which was supposedly “loosened so the flow of Lucozade is much faster, forcing you to consume more at an uncontrollable rate.”

They also noted that ‘the pop sound you get when you squeeze’ has also been altered due to the new cap on the bottle. “Not as satisfying as the sound it used to make.”

The social media mogul also explained that this was not a one-off. “Second bottle was consumed and the whole experience was atrocious”. 

Elsewhere in the comments, another person noted: “Must have changed the design AGAIN then, as a few months ago when they changed to the new, smaller and recyclable labels, they had caps on with no rubber sphincter.”

Another described how the previous design was medically recommended by midwives: “The old bottles were recommended by midwives to use (with warm water, not Lucozade sport!) to spray your bits with when weeing after birth.

“I fear this new design won’t be up to the task!”

However, some people have noted the endless amount of fun that is now possible with the new Lucozade Sport cap. 

“Lucozade Sport in the sports cap bottle. Gives you much-needed energy and your partner can literally squirt it into your mouth!” one user wrote, explaining how the drink is perfect for maternity hospital bags.

Another echoed: “I’m not one to complain, I live off @LucozadeEnergy orange. I love it and will continue to be a Lucozade addict!”
