The cost of living crisis has us all feeling the pinch, and the latest place where we are going to shell out more is at McDonald's.
Much to the horror of British fast food fans, the American chain is increasing the price of its cheeseburgers from 99p to £1.19 today.
McDonald's said that while it was a 'touch choice' to make the increase, it remains committed to 'offering great tasting food at affordable prices.'

Alistair Macrow, the Chief Executive Officer, said: "We're living through incredibly challenging times and we're all seeing the cost of everyday items, such as food and energy, increase in a way many of us have never experienced.
"Just like you, our company, our franchisees who own and operate our restaurants, and our suppliers are all feeling the impact of rising inflation.
"Today’s pressures mean, like many, we're having to make some tough choices about our prices."

Sadly, cheeseburgers are not the only McDonald's items that will soon be setting you back more of your hard-earned cash, and the chain said the items most impacted by rising inflation will increase in cost between 10 and 20p more.
However, it did point out that this is the first time that the cheeseburger has risen in price for 14 years.
But despite the chain's decision to increase the price of some of its offerings, it is attempting to give back to its customers with its new rewards scheme.
MyMcDonald’s Rewards recently launched in the UK and 'offers one point for every penny spent through our app on our iconic food and drink, and these points can be collected and redeemed for free food as well as charitable donations.'

The fast food giant explained that customers can also make savings through the famous Monopoly promotion which gives customers a chance to win a variety of goodies - from free burgers to cash prizes.
Macrow explained that the promotion 'will return later in the summer with an even bigger prize pool and increased chances of winning.'
As well as the chance to win free or reduced food, McDonald's fans can also now enjoy some new menu items.

For the first time ever, you'll be able to tuck into halloumi fries, as well as two new burgers - the Spicy Spanish Stack and the Chicken Fiesta.
A new berry and citrus punch will also be on the menu.
