People are slamming one doctor after one of his patients shared the 'insensitive' comments he made about her eggs during an IVF appointment.
Going through fertility treatment can be a gruelling, exhausting process for any woman, and the doctor who you entrust with job can have a major impact on the experience.
That's what one woman found when she was left mortified during her first ever IVF treatment after being told by a doctor that she had "good eggs for an old lady."

Posting about her upsetting experience on Reddit, user u/afterglow88 shared: "I’m 39. Went for my first IVF appt - while the doc was examining my uterus, he said 'I’ve got good egg’s for an old lady'. Like wtf???"
She went on to explain: "As far as we know, it’s harder for me to conceive due to age, no health issues. During the exam, doc has the Hysteroscope in me, moving it around and examining my uterus. He said 'you’ve got good eggs for an old lady, that’s great!'
"I mean, I’m grateful that I don’t have more issues with conceiving other than age, but holy cow that was so insensitive?! I didn’t even know what to say at that point. He told me to cheer up, and that it looks like I've got good eggs. Thanks a lot."

Reading about the hopeful mother's experience, other Redditors were horrified and took to the comments to discuss.
"What in the world..?" one user simply asked.
Some women pointed out that, because the OP is 39, her pregnancy would be considered 'geriatric', but they couldn't deny that her doctor's bedside manner was inappropriate.

One noted: "Like, yes your age means you'll have a 'geriatric' pregnancy, which is already an unfortunate term, but there's no need to call you an old lady. Insensitive."
Another irritated user added: "Tf is wrong with people in the comments. How is 'old lady' either a medical term or an appropriate benevolent joke made by a medical professional in this situation? It’s just rude and nothing else."
Meanwhile, a third commented: "Considering after we’re 35 it’s considered a geriatric pregnancy that tracks. It’s still depressing as hell to be called old when you’re not."

Yikes! There's got to be a nicer way to say it than that!
