A 63-year-old mum says she’s fitter and stronger now than when she was in her 20s and urges people not to fear ageing as ‘life gets better’.
Gym Tan, from California, believes ‘age is just a number’ and regularly shares inspirational content about growing older on her TikTok account (@californiaistoocasual) where she has amassed 247,000 followers.
The fitness fan shared a clip a couple of years back in which she said she was feeling better than she did in her 20s.

In the video, Gym could be seen running, while a caption explained: “I’m 61 and this is the fittest and best shape I’ve been in my life!
“I’m running further and stronger than in my 20s. So don’t be afraid of getting older, life really can and does get better.”
Replying to a comment, Gym revealed that for the last few years she has been averaging six miles every day with a combination of running and walking. Is anyone else feeling slightly lazy after reading that? Just me?

And in a recent post, Gym said she felt like she was ageing backwards as she told her followers: “It’s my birthday today and I’m 63. I said before that I actually think I look younger this year than I did last year.
“I think what is keeping me looking younger is not thinking about my age.
“Age is just a number - but more than that, just focus on what makes you feel good.
“I always think if something looks good, smells good and tastes good, then it’s good for you.

“So, I just want to come on and say to all of you that life is short - enjoy it, be happy, surround yourself with people who love you and that you can learn from.”
In a recent video, she advised her followers to ‘wear what makes you feel good’ as she showed off her enviable figure in a black strapless dress with a thigh split.
Gym’s positive approach towards life and ageing has gone down a storm on TikTok where her followers regularly pile on the praise.
