Many were sceptical of Adam Collard when he appeared back on Love Island this year, after he developed a bit of a reputation when he first made an appearance on the show back in 2018.
But when the gym owner seemed to forge a genuine connection with Paige Thorne, viewers began to warm to the 27-year-old. However, in a recent podcast, Adam has revealed his real reason for returning to the show, and he doesn't seem to mention finding love. You can watch a clip below:
Speaking on Paul Mort's 'Paul Mort Talks Sh*t' podcast, Adam was asked why he decided to go back on the show.

But his reasons were not very romantic...
"What made you go back on Love Island?" Asked Paul.
Adam explained that he hadn't even realised the series had started when he first got a call from producers.

"Err, second gym," he responded.
"I'm not gonna' lie. They rang us up with two weeks notice. I'd came out of a relationship about two and a half months before. I was in Greece for a fitness retreat, had no idea I was going on. I was sitting in Greece still doing the training sessions, and people I remember were drinking wine talking about Love Island starting and I had no idea I was going on at that time.
"And it had already started, so Paige was actually in the show and I still had no idea.
"Then they rang me and contacted me thinking they had this crazy idea and I thought right, it's a recharge, it's a refresh on social media and I haven't really got anything to lose because the gym's got... there's so many staff and it runs itself, why don't I just go for it?

"And they got us at a good single point where I was a bit like a raging animal, and I thought I was gonna go on there and do all sorts and cause chaos and to be fair I actually liked a girl and just was pretty much boring."
After just a couple of months of dating, Paige and Adam split back in October. Rumours emerged of why the pair had parted ways after photos circulated online of Adam with his arm around another woman.
Adam told The Sun: “I've heard so much misinformation the past few days, so I feel like I need to now say what really happened.

“The night I was seen with my arm around the girl in McDonald’s I’d been out on a PA and met loads of people that evening. It’s my job at the end of the day, to take pictures and selfies and things like that.”
Shortly after his appearance at the star-studded bash, Paige offered up her side of the story on the Saving Grace podcast, saying: “It's not just that video [of Adam with his arm around the blonde woman in McDonald’s].
“There are other videos that people don't know about. Of different people, on the same night, in different locations." You can read more here.
