A girl was left in tears following a heartbreaking text message from her dad after she'd went through a break-up with her boyfriend.

Fallon Thompson had just split with her boyfriend back in May when her dad sent her some words of wisdom.

No matter how old you are, everyone needs some wise words from their mum or dad when they're going through a hard time.

And people have been left feeling emotional over the messages, which have had millions of views online after Fallon shared them on TikTok.

"Hey baby girl... here is some perspective from your old man... I have had lots of relationships... from one-night stands, to flings, to friends w/ benefits, to girlfriends, to live-in girlfriends, and then I met your mom," Fallon's dad, Scott, said.

"I can say with certainty that when I met her, it was instantly different.

"I can also say that I knew it was different because I went through those other experiences.

"So what you are dealing with today is necessary in order for you to one day be able to discern when a person is really right for you.

"I can also say that even though I was broken up with, and in one instance I was cheated on, it was worth it, to get to where I am now."

In the clip, Fallon also shared some anecdotes her dad had sent her.

"When a cow sees a storm, they run away from it," he said.

"What ends up happening is they end up being tortured by the storm longer as they are actually keeping themselves in the storm longer.

"However, when a bull sees a storm, they run towards it, facing the onslaught head on.

"Initially, it's terrible but they are strong and they can weather the storm and because they were able to endure it, the storm passes them quickly, and they are soon in a peaceful place.

"So be the bull and lean into your storm, embrace the suck and let it fill you up."

Give this man a medal.

Fallon later told Good Morning America that she 'sort of teared up a little bit' while reading them, adding: "I was like, 'Wow, regardless of where my relationships may lead me in life, I know I'm always gonna have my dad and my family.'

"That's the most important thing to me."

People were loving Scott's wise words, with one writing: "This is genuinely the sweetest thing I have ever seen."

While another said: "I’m legit SOBBING, your dad doesn’t even realize it, but I think he just helped heal a lot more little girls than just his."

And a third added: "This actually helped me. I needed to hear this too. You’ll be okay baby be kind to yourself and give it time."
