Man v. Food star Adam Richman breaks silence after cryptic post leaves fans concerned

He left fans incredibly worried after sharing a cryptic post on Instagram

TV presenter Adam Richman has spoken out to address fans’ concerns, following a cryptic Instagram post that left many people worried.

Richman is best known for hosting hit Travel Channel show Man v. Food between 2008 and 2012, having fronted the series for four seasons.

He later went on to work on a number of other food-based TV projects, including Man Finds Food and The Food that Built America.

Richman also shares plenty of food tips on social media, where his 454,000 Instagram followers regularly see him ranking chocolate chip cookies or sharing restaurant recommendations.

One of his latest posts, however, left fans deeply concerned as they called on someone to check on the star.

Posting a photo of him sitting alone in the stands at Aston Villa’s Villa Park in Birmingham – presumably for his recent show Adam Richman Eats Football – he wrote: “Thank you all for the support you have given & the chance to live out my dreams to uplift so many others through the shows that I make, and to tell their stories.

“I’m not perfect, never claimed to be. I’ve always tried my best and tried to lead with love.

"I’m rooting for all of you, & appreciate every last one of you.”

Richman signed of the message saying: “With Love & Respect, Adam.”

Many people grew worried after seeing the post, with one commenting: “Is there anyone that can physically check on @adamrichman??”

Someone else said: “Anxiety hits. What's going on... are you OK?”

A third wrote: “Hope you're ok. Please reach out to someone if you're not.”

Richman later edited the caption to apologise for ‘scaring’ people, saying that hadn’t been his intention.

"Thank you for all of your concern everyone,” he said, continuing: “I’m fine. It was a post of just honesty & gratitude after praying last night.

“I am sorry if I scared anyone.”

He also shared a follow-up video to explain further, opening up about how his father had previously gone into hospital for a 'routine surgery' at the age of 52 but 'never came out'.

Since then, he's been left with a deep-set fear of hospitals and surgery.

He had revealed in an Instagram post earlier this month that he had 'some family medical stuff going on', but didn't clarify if this was linked.

“These injuries are maybe a little bit of a result of me feeling my own age,” he said.

“I’m scared. I’m super scared out of my mind, and a bit sad.

“I know nowadays, everyone’s trying to be a sigma, no one wants to admit any kind of fear, but I’m scared.”

Richman said that, after praying, he felt he should 'just put out a lot of gratitude and a bit of humility', and that this was all he was 'trying to communicate'.

"The bottom line is that I work at the pleasure of the people that enjoy my shows, that enjoy me as a host or whatever that is," he went on.

“And I just needed to tell you all how much I love you, and as scared as I am - and I’m so sorry if I scared anybody else - the concern and the love that I got from you guys over the past seven hours, just has meant the world, has galvanized me and given me more strength than I had on my own."

He added: "A lot of people out there have it a whole lot worse than I do. But thank you from the bottom of my heart for your concern.

“Maybe throw up a prayer for your boy. I love you all, and I’ll see you on the other side.”
