Anyone who has ever been to Aldi knows that as soon as your shopping is on that conveyor belt, your items are about to start flying through the scanners.
It's long been discussed between shoppers that the sheer speed at which you check out at the German-born Aldi makes all other supermarkets pale in comparison.
Aldi themselves once claimed they're 40% quicker than the likes of Asda and Tesco - and I have to say I believe them.
It turns out that it's not just the staff happen to be super keen - there's actually a reason why they need to do it.

So, why do they do it?
Well, a spokesperson for Aldi said that their staff are 'encouraged to be as efficient as possible which helps us to keep prices low for our customers.'
They then added: "Our employees are trained to operate the checkout at the appropriate pace for each individual they serve.”
Interesting stuff indeed.
According to the Express, Aldi's food products have multiple barcodes around them, which ensures the scanning is easier for staff and has a faster outcome.
Not only that, but on items such as cans and tins, the barcode almost goes the entire way around.
The speedy cashier can then just roll the item across the scanner.
Industry secrets a-plenty over here.
Comparison website Which? also found Aldi to be the cheapest supermarket for single month of this year so far.
But their fast as lightening check out process and low prices aren't the only reasons they're iconic.
I mean, who could forget when they spotted luxury supermarket Marks & Spencer made a blunder in some promotional furniture shots.
The day was 9 April, and on their official Facebook and Instagram pages, M&S promotes their £669 garden dining set.
In the middle of that table sat a bottle of wine.
No big deal, probably a bottle of wine from one of their very own shelves.
Not quite...
It turned out to be a bottle of Aldi's Specially Selected Côtes De Provence Blanc.
Aldi then quipped: "Marks and Spencer drink Aldi wine pass it on."
They later added: "Least they picked a good bottle, now we can say they have taste.”
We're sure M&S needed some lotion for that burn - and there's plenty on Aldi's shelves.
