A woman was arrested after an ‘altercation’ over an ‘all you can eat deal’ at a popular restaurant chain.
Last month, US chain Applebee’s announced the return of its popular deal, promising customers a chance to gorge on bottomless boneless wings, riblets and ‘Double Crunch Shrimp’.
In a press release, the company said the ‘limited time’ offer would let people ‘savor the flavors of summer’ with the ‘unbeatable feast' of American favourites, all for $15.99 per person.

Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer of Applebee’s, said in a statement at the time: “Our All You Can Eat Boneless Wings, Riblets, and Double Crunch Shrimp deal is the perfect way for our guests to eat their fill and leave with their wallets full.
“From America’s Favorite Boneless Wings, available in six delicious sauces, to our slow-cooked Riblets, and crispy battered Double Crunch Shrimp, summer never tasted better at Applebee’s.”
Hoping to make use of the deal with several others, a 28-year-old woman visited a local Applebee’s in Portage, Indiana, on 2 August.

However, the meal ended in chaos, with police in Portage saying she was later arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
An arrest report obtained by Today said the Portage Police Department was dispatched to an Applebee’s at 6211 US Highway 6 at around 8.30pm due to a ‘verbal disturbance’.
The officer said in the report that dispatchers had been warned of ‘multiple females screaming’, who were also ‘threatening people’.
One member of the group told the officer they’d been involved in a ‘verbal altercation’ with a manager, having been under the impression that the ‘all you can eat’ deal applied to the entire table if ordered by just one diner.

However, after the manager explained that each person had to pay the $15.99 charge for the deal, an argument broke out.
Another argument fired up when the table received their bill from the manager, who then called the police.
The attending officer said the 28-year-old woman ‘became very loud and disorderly, attracting the attention of other patrons due to her behaviour’, and that she continued to 'yell and act disorderly’ despite his attempts to calm her.

Today reports that, after realising the menu did, indeed, explain that the deal was per person, a member of the group went back into the restaurant and paid the bill in full.
On the Applebee’s website, the terms and conditions state that the offer is ‘valid per person, per order’, adding: “No sharing.”
