Cookie cutters truly are the enemy of Christmas

Here we go again, it’s another cookie cutter mystery and Reddit is on the hunt for the answer.

Tis that time again to grab the dusty cookie making instruments from the forgotten drawer now that Christmas is upon us.

From creating lavish biscuits to baking splendid cakes for the whole family, many of us are spending this time slaving away in a hot kitchen so that we can present Santa with some festive food and a large glass of milk tomorrow night.

That’s right, Christmas is just two sleeps away, so you’d better be prepared.

However, how can you really be prepared to bake cookies if you don’t even know how you’re supposed to decorate them?

We all know that cookie cutter sets are themed for Christmas, and while most tell you what they’re supposed to be and how you’re meant to decorate them with icing and sprinkles, there are always a few stragglers left behind as the years pass and you’ve suddenly no idea what they are.

This is, unfortunately, the predicament one Reddit user is in and now they’re searching for the answers.

When FilmTechnician posted to the r/whatismycookiecutter subreddit, they were clearly desperate for clues.

According to the post, the strange, shaped cutter has been as ‘mystery in my family for years’ and it’s time to put it to bed.

At first glance, it looks like a bent B, but that couldn’t be it.

In fact, it must be the shape of something that’s a character or Xmas themed object.

However, it’s baffled everyone.

In the comments, most people suggested that it could be a snowman, or even a baby Jesus, but the jury is out on the true shape.

One person wrote: “This looks like an accidental bend where the edges overlap. It probably should be straight. A bent up heart makes a lot sense!”

Another said: “Little fat emperor penguin.”

Someone else commented, “Misshapen ‘primitive heart’?” to which someone replied: “I think this one is actually it, it looks like it was bent at some point where the metal overlaps, and got misshapen. I bet if it was bent back into shape it'd look like this.”

Apparently, it’s going to remain a mystery for a few more years.

Similar to this other cookie cutter which Redditors couldn’t work out either.

Is it a snowy row of houses? A sleigh?

Nobody knows! Especially not the baffled baker, who wrote: “This is driving me nuts. It’s from a Christmas set but I’m stumped.”

Everyone else was stumped too, which is a real shame as I’d like to know what on Earth it’s supposed to be.

Anyway, cookie cutters are really giving people a hard time lately, and though it might seem like it’s only the end product which leaves being feeling some type of way about it, it’s also the manufacturing process too.

Cookie cutter company Off The Beaten Path’s video has left people with their jaws on the floor and you’ll see why:

After watching this clip, you’ll never bake Christmas tree-shaped cookies in the same way.
