McDonald's just drastically changed its menu with never-before-seen items

McDonald's is launching four new menu items as well as bringing back several fan favourites

If you're reading this article before taking your lunch break, or are embarking on a health kick, then be warned.

That's because McDonald's has just launched a lip-smacking new menu that is guaranteed to set your tastebuds into frenzy.

As well as bringing back several much-loved yet limited edition items, the fast food giant has launched a handful of brand spanking new products.

And no, I'm not drooling on my keyboard while writing this - you are!

When is the new McDonald's menu launching?

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original burger and fries franchise, the revamped plethora of products landed in stores across the UK from 11.00am today (17 July).

And though it's not unusual for McDonald's bosses to switch up their menu to keep customers on their toes, when it comes to this particular launch, there is some aspect of goodwill involved.

It turns out that's because one of the newly added additions to the dessert menu will see 20p from each sale donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, which also celebrates its 35th birthday this year.

Which McDonald's products are returning?

As we say, the new relaunch partially comprises of the return of several already-popular bites.

Among the limited edition products making a comeback today are fan-favourites the Double Big Mac and Double Big Mac with Bacon.

Both dishes will continue to feature their signature quadruple beef patties, as well as a slice of creamy cheese, the usual sprinkle of lettuce and onions, and a couple of tangy pickles, with the latter boasting the sweet addition of a few bacon rashers.

Also reemerging today for the first time since last October (which, I believe, should be a crime, just saying...) is the McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse.

The tender chicken breast fillets dipped in a crunchy coating, a lather of barbecue sauce, a dollop of rich cheddar cheese and a sourdough bun are set to see the burger live up to it's already impressive reputation.

Which McDonald's items are new?

The new menu launch consists of a whopping three brand new desserts, as well as a tantalising new cheesy side dish.

Among the menu's latest bombshells is the Birthday Cake Donut - a succulent sweet ring of pleasure, jam-packed with a zesty strawberry filling and topped with a divine buttercream icing, as well as hoards upon hoards of sprinkles, of course.

This is the new item which will see a portion of the money raised go to McDonald's' in-house charity, which provides free 'home away from home' accommodation for families with children in hospital.

Two new McFlurry flavours will also be added to the mix in the form of a Milkybar Raspberry Ripple edition, which features soft dairy ice cream swirled with mini white choc drops and topped a gorgeous sour raspberry sauce, and a Munchies Cookie Dough version, which sees chocolate-coated Munchies biscuit pieces topped with a caramel cookie dough sauce.

And there's also an exciting new savoury addition to the line up.

Making their global debut are Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers, which will see four mozzarella dippers flavoured with garlic and chives in a ciabatta-style breadcrumb coating.

As hoped for, these will served with the company's signature rich tomato dip, and they're available in snackbox form too.
